Good morning,

Yesterday's condo

Yesterday
AMPS=122 (0.5u); +2=158; +5=205; +7.5=256
PMPS=230 (0.5u); +2.25=247; +6=194

Today
AMPS=169 (0.5u); +2=194; +9.5=187
PMPS=185 (0.5u); +2=230

Lucy is still not feeling so good.
Since she got sick on Sunday, I have been able to get her to eat only half of her regular portion.
From today, I am going to try to get her to eat more, maybe 3/4 of her regular portion.
She is refusing Wellness Turkey or the new Rayne Turkey diet right now because that's what she was eating when she got sick.
So I am feeding different thing, Wellness Turkey&Salmon or Wellness Chicken.

It didn't help that it was so hot yesterday, and it's going to be hot again today. :-x

When she got car sick and vomited in April, it took 3 - 4 weeks before she was normal again.
Maybe recovery just takes time for her.
I am going to give her body a break from extra drug today, and if she shows no improvement, I'll consider the Cerenia/Cypro/Pepcid combo tomorrow.

Sending vines to all in need.

Re: 7/2 Lucy AMPS=169

HI guys ... aww, I am sorry to hear lucy got sick and is still not feeling well .. I sure hope today is a better day for her and she feels 100% soon! Have a great day guys!

Re: 7/2 Lucy AMPS=169

So far, she has eaten my target amount - 3/4 of her regular portion!
Maybe I can get her to eat a little more before I leave for work.

She didn't really want to eat, but ate slowly by finger-feeding.
It is a game of who's more persistent, and I feel cruel sometimes, but she needs to eat.
Her choices are: 1) Keep moving to get away from me. or 2) Put up with the food stuck in front of her nose constantly. or 3) Eat.
Today, she was too lazy to move, and she was too annoyed by the food under her nose, so she ate though like a kid eating veggies.

I had to open a can from my secret stash of old Wellness (Wendy special).
I hope she'll start eating regular Wellness soon because I don't have that many of them left.

Re: 7/2 Lucy AMPS=169

Mariko, sorry you had to resort to "tough love" but happy to see you were able to get her to eat more. Hoping she'll realize very soon that the fuds won't make her sick. Continued feel-better and better-appy vines for Lucy.

Re: 7/2 Lucy AMPS=169;+2=194

Hang in there Mariko. You're doing your best for Lucy. Hopefully she'll feel like eating again soon. Sending hugs and prayers. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 7/2 Lucy AMPS=169;+2=194

Lots of appy vines for Lucy tonight. I'm sure the hot weather is inhibiting her appetite. Who likes to eat a lot when it is so hot? Good idea to back off on the meds.

I hope your weather improves and that Lucy will begin to feel better. Sorry about the fuds issues. Have you tried the kangaroo yet??

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 7/2 Lucy PMPS=185

Lovely day of blues for Lucy. Not bad considering the heat - it's a little bit cooler than yesterday. Tons of appy vines coming your way. I hope you'll get her onto the Rayne kangaroo before running out of the secret Wellness stash. I keep looking when I'm in a new store - I think that was the last of them in Vancouver. :sad:

Re: 7/2 Lucy PMPS=185

I think Lucy might be feeling a bit better. :-D
She ate the 1st dinner not too badly. :-D :-D
And it was Wellness Turkey! I tried the 5oz can instead of 3.5oz can, and she didn't say no thanks.

Before dinner, she went poo and had a major poopy bum.
So I had to give her a bum bath.
She got upset and tried to climb on me, so I had to shower her bum against me.
I got soaked, but we are both getting better at bum bath using the shower head attachment thingy I found at the PetSmart a while ago!

I was feeling good about the successful bum bath and Lucy eating, and then found that Ginger didn't finish her dinner.
It is really really really unusual.
So of course I am worried again.....
Maybe it's the hot weather, but it never affected her.
I don't like it I don't like it I don't like it I don't like it.
I'm used to Lucy not eating, but not Gingin..... :sad:

Re: 7/2 Lucy PMPS=185

Thank you so much, Wendy.

Ella - The vet advised me to hold Kangaroo until her IBD is a bit more controlled, so we can save it as her "novel protein" as it has to be something she has never eaten.
She said that if I introduce a new protein when her intestinal lining is already reacting to something badly, her body may decide that's the way she'll always react to it too from then on - Or something similar she said.. I think.

Re: 7/2 Lucy PMPS=185

You are right about the novel protein. When you start that she can't be eating anything she has eaten before.

Re: 7/2 Lucy PMPS=185

Well Ginger ate some Wellness Turkey with bonito flakes sprinkles, but now Lucy doesn't want the 2nd dinner. angry(2)_cat

They are taking turns to drive me crazy. :-x :-x :-x
