Good Morning LL!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (lots: hike recovery, big time!), and Happy Tuesday everyone!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, Lil Bit, kitteh barista!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! AND!!!! Lola and Bug are going to try their paws at making the Cornuts and the dunking cookies. I dunno about the cookies, TJ's really are mega good, But they wants to try.... They say expansion of their pizza making business is a good thing. Me: I still want to makes coffee, but will add their line if you guys likes them. What's you think? For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espresso, beans from the heart of central Ethiopia. Dor my mocha fans: Venti Quad orange and vanilla mocha, laced with orange swirls, topped with chocolate whip, garnished with orange zest, slivered vanilla beans and chocolate swirls.... OH! No worries, a dollop of orange, chocolate curls, and vanilla swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! SWEET!

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. I sure did: hike was wonderful, but very longgggggggggggggggggggggg, a d I didn't even do all of it! Boy did I veer feel those miles this morning. and my feet! ouch! It was a good time, and I'd go back. It's one of those thru hikes, runs a total of 14 miles, 28 RT. Next time I go will try for the north end, where the suspension Bridge is, and access to the river trail. Heres what I wrote last night about the hike: "Hi everyone. ~O) I hope your day has been a good one. I have just returned from my hiking adventure, which was really nice, but I an SO TIRED!!! So forgive me for not visiting condos tonight, as I think once I sit down I will crash. I had the best intentions too! ;-) It has been an interesting day today. About 5.5 miles into this hike I see movement about 150 yards ahead, thinking hmmmm: hiker and dog on the trail. well no, one big black bear.  He was just wandering along the trail for maybe 300 yards, and then he heads to the lake. RELIEF! That was fun! :o      Hiking with black bear. LOL. No photo though: too many trees and too far away. It was kinda cool though. I ended up doing 17 of the 28 RT miles: made the first campground by 10AM and thought sheshhh not going back at 10AM, so kept on going. LOL. One sometimes forgets that one also has to hike back out.  Climbed about 1700 feet too - shessh on that too. the trail is more or less flat, but has all these tiny hills and valleys: guess they add up HAHA. anyways - it is a nice woods hike, with exceptional views when all the trees allow it. That was one drawback: can't really see much of the lake, and no lake access. Lots of nice creeks though. If I go back I will go in from the north end - I suspect that is where the kid friendly part of this trail rating is. Sure wasn't on the part I was on. anyways.... I will feel those 17 miles and 1700 feet tomorrow, and the chaffing from my jeans. OW: have some raw spots: too hot, alot of sweat and things rub. oh well. : ) It has been a great day. Bear sighting was worth it! SWEET! " Picassa link (photos and videos) : Baker Lake Trail

I came home yesterday to HOT and starving kitties. Well, they thought they were starving. I love those greetings: it so reminds me of Mannie. He never missed a hike return. They inhaled their fuds  , and then wanted more. Guess they were starving!  I have no clue what they did all day long.... sure was alot of things scattered all over the house, some kitty toys, but mostly hoomin things, like magazines, paperbacks, utensils, and one more shattered kitty fuds bowl. AIyee! Now I really do have to buy new bowls! Silly cats! They are still laying in the hotest spots of the house.... silly kitties..... and this morning? I think they are running a marathon in my house. up and down the halls and back again. sounds like thunder is here.

Have a great day everyone. I am off to Seattle later today to see a friend for ~O) > YAY! We are due for more sunny warm weather - maybe 86 today too. WOW ! and it still is predicted to hold for the 4th. SWEET!

KITTIES!: Think BLUE!!, Think GREEN!!

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

The hike sounds beautiful and exhausting all at the same time. Wow on the bear. Is that unusual? That would be so cool to see, but glad he wasn't too into checking you out. I bet you are sore but it sounds like it was so worth it.

Oh my on the kitties and their antics. They are just so full of energy. Hard to get used to after having senior kitties. What fun though. Kitty dishes can be replaced. I've missed you the last few days. Silly life gets in the way. Have a wonderful visit to the city Michelle!

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

Morning Melissa ~O) ~O) ~O) oh yes: pretty, and tiring! I feel those miles today, but not as badly a I thought I would. YAY! We can have alot of Bear here, but they tend to stay to the really remote areas. Now and then they will venture down into the areas the average person like me can get too. We do see them out on trails, on occasion, if one ventures out into the less popular places. I've seen maybe three, four over the past five years. It was cool, and one knows to keep their distance. I'm glad he decided I wasn't worth his time. I so agree on teh kitties. Mine were/are all seniors until we adopted Lola and Bug. back to the antics of young ones. Lola is real pistol. no worries on the visits: I missed everyone yesterday - life got in the way.... :?

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

Hi guys .. wow, I can't imagine just stumbling upon a black bear on a hike  Then again, I can't really see myself hiking

Pictures of things scattered about your house cause of your rambunctious kitties makes me smile .. When you have old ladies like I do you forget how wild and destructive young cats can be .. but so much fun too!

It feels like forever and a day since I visited any condos and I feel sad about that .. I miss the keeping up with everyone and all the newbies as well .. I'm hoping one of these days soon I can get back on track!

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

Morning Michelle ~O) ~O) congrats on completing that much of the trail. That sounds like one of the more challenging ones and you made it. On the bear!  Were there other hikers in sights as you follow the trail? Beautiful pics. How funnt with Lola and Bug. I guess the kitties will play while the Bean is away and get into all sorts of things.
Elsa, yes, keep that pizza coming and whatever homemade goodies you make. Thank you for the Triple Espresso, sorely needed, love ya.

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

A bear...WOW! I love bears...probably my favorite wild animal. But man, I have a feeling I would pass out if I came across one during a hike  :o ! I have been known to forget I have to walk or bike back, too, when I'm out and about  !

It sounds like the kittens are very good at keeping themselves occupied while MamaBean is out  !

Have a great day today, Michelle!!

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

Morning Everyone! ~O) ~O) ~O) and some more ----> ~O) ~O) ~O) we all seem to need it!

Hi Devon ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Too funny! Hiking is a blast, bears are cool, as long as they keep their distance. They can be a it intimidating!  Oh yes on the young-en's here. I too was so sued to senior kitties. The antics of these little ones cracks me up. nothing is spared.  I so now what you mean on condos. Yesterday was a bust for me as far as that goes. I too miss keeping up with everyone, and the newbies. So many I don't know....

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on the hike - it was a long one, but enjoyable too. Put a few miles on the legs....  LOVED the bear, as long as he didn't come my way. There were not alot of hikers out on the tail yesterday. I had done over 5 miles before I saw anyone. Rather quiet place. Sometimes I like it that way. THX on the pics! Yes on Lola and Bug: into EVERYTHING!
Hi Auntie Ann - ok, and will do! PawPrints Pizza is ready to serve. You is welcomes on the ~O) this morning. I am about to head on out for round two. I gots you on the list! ~~ Elsa, Lil BIT, kitteh barista

Morning Terri ~O) ~O) ~O) THX for the visit! I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. it really is a pretty place. Mt Baker, in/near the North Cascades, which is a great hiking place, with many trails that are so accessible and alot not hard to do. One of the reasons I like it: outstanding views, and trails for whatever my need and/or ability may be for the day. Great area!

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O) Me too on the bears. it is a whole difference experience to encounter one while out on a trail. Funny thins is I had stopped for a few minutes just before to look at a possible side trail. If I hadn't I would have crossed paths alot closer than I would have liked. Yes, funny how we get so caught up in where we are that we tend to forget: gotta hike this the other way to get back to the car.... I sure did yesterday.  and a big yes on teh kitties here. They will amuse themselves with whatever they can find. ShesssH!

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

Looked at pictures and said I know that mountain  We had a bear come in our house he took my pie and potato salad before leaving back out the door. I lived inn Big Bear had split doors and had the bottom part open for the kitties. Never thought when I came down the stairs to the kitchen I would see him. Well you enjoy yourself and yes going to be cooler out this way finally.Great pictures

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

Hi Michelle,
Wow beautiful hike yesterday. I can see how it would be easy to just go a little further and a little further until your WAAAYYYY in. Until i saw the bear nailbite_smile I'm glad he just went on his way. I bet he's glad you did too.
   on Lola and Bug. They are the life of the party...and they are always having a party. It's so nice they have a home where they can play. :-D Sorry about the dish. rats.
My little Greg always picks the hot spot in the house???? If there's a light on, he's under it. If there's sun coming in, he's in it. Sometimes i leave Ollie's testing light on just so Greg can snuggle under it. It's odd isn't it? I would think with all the fur, they'd try to find the cool spots.

I hope whatever adventure you have today is great fun! xoxo mary

Elsa, Lil Bit - thanks again for the thermos today! Orange, Vanilla and fudge!! Does it get any better than this?? I think not! . and cookies and cronuts whoooo hooooo. You're going to have soooo many things with you for deliveries, you may need to train the "kids" to help. Only with delivers tho... no one can touch your coffees. xoxo auntiemary dancing_cat dancing_cat dancing_cat

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

I haven't shared any hiking trails with bears yet. And I don't think I'd want to either. :-D ohmygod_smile

We get plenty of them around here and it's really going to be rough on all the outdoor critters this year as no one has any fruit on their trees. (late freeze)

Sounds like you are having some great hikes.

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

HI Michelle

I don't know how you do it...okay you're way younger than I, even so...I walk half mile up the road and remember I have to walk back. That's where I turn around
The wildest thing I see is neighbor's little dog, letting me know, that's his part of the road.

It must be so much fun, having crazy rambunctious kitties around. A bit tiring, maybe

Hope you're enjoying your evening, Michelle

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

Quite the long hike yesterday. I've only hiked one of the trails near Mt. Baker and I so remember crossing rushing streams. What a beautiful lake up top there. We get lots of bear around here. Not as much since the neighbours with kids who tossed fruit rinds in the garbage moved, but still often enough. Probably at least once a year. One time I was driving up the street and one was rambling down. I didn't know if he wanted to pass on the left or the right.

Maybe it's time to look at metal bowls for the furkids? The antics sound like so much fun. I hope you are getting the fuds dance from them.

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

Wow on the bear. That would have been neat to see as long as it wasn't too close. Those pictures are beautiful. It looks like a great place to walk.

It sounds like the kitties may have had a party while you were out.

I hope you had a good visit with your friend.

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

Happy Tuesday night everyone! Not much to report here tonight. Seattle was good, it was nice to see my friend and catch up. The rest of the day was spent cleaning, vacuuming, things I so dearly love. not. But.... we are spiffy clean now, SWEET!

Hi Linda - oh wow! what a great story! a pie and potato salad stealing bear. ;-) And thx, day was great,a nd yay for the cooler!

Hi Mary - THX on the hike, and the pics. It is a very nice area there, love to go hike there. and yes, that is the way it was: just a little further....  so agreed on that bear. THX too on Lola and Bug, and I agree: it is nice that they have a place they can play and just be kitties. I finally went and got stainless steel bowls. Now let's see Bug try and break those.   I so agree on these kitties that seek out the hot spots. Elsa will go cool. Mannie was hot, BJ was hot, Lola and bug Hot. BJ used to love the heat of the lamps - I always had one on for her.
Auntie Mary - thanks you! Heeheehee - I thinks so too: they can helps with deliveries and then they can also try to get some business for their pizza stuff. Lots of neighbors on my runs. I so agree : they is not allowed to touch my coffees. no way, no how. :-D ~~ Elsa, Lil BIT, kitteh barista

Hi Rhiannon - I know on those bears... it was kinda freaky, but cool too. oh wow on the critters in your area and the food supply. Not good on the fruit, especially for all the hoomins. Bummer all around.

Hi Barb - You are so funny.  dogs can be scary ya know.... especially when we are on their side of the road. funny, but that does happen here all the time. Lots of dog families..... It is alot of fun with Lola and Bug - never a dull moment, Makes life interesting. Yeah it can be tiring when one has to keep watch on what they are into .... and THX: evening is great.

Hi Wendy - oh yeah - there was distance involved. I didn't really intend to go so far, but I did.... just a little further turned into alot further. LOL big time on the bear rambling down your street:which side do you want there bear?  I really like hiking in the Mt Baker area - there are alot of streams to cross. That part was really nice yesterday - I saw so many! I can't wait until the are up by the ski are opens up more: gorgeous hiking there! and YES on the bowls that is exactly what I bought today. A huge smile on the fuds dance. YES!!!! They have taken that over from Mannie especially Lola: what a dancer she is!

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

Hi Carla - Sorry I missed your post! I thought so too: it was neat to see one, and not too close, he was headed away from me, so all was well. THX on the photos - the area is truly a very nice one. I think they do: a kitty party while I am away. and probably every day! THX, the visit was a good one. :-D

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

Oh my Michelle,

17 miles, I just can't imagine :o :o But to have someplace so beautiful close by (not really sure how close it is) is a real treat!

Glad your kitties let you know you were missed. Don't you wish there was a camera filming their antics while you were out?

Jane

Re: 7/2 LOOSE LIPS: Mountains, lakes, creeks, sun, and BEAR

Hi Jane - many thanks! I do like the area of that hike, It's a two hour drive, but worth it. We are lucky here - we have so many places that are as nice and withing a hours drive. LOL on the 17 miles. Kinda one of those things where I just kept walking.... ;-) Sure did feel it though when I was back at the car. -- YUPP! Sure did wish I had one of those cameras to know what they do during the day. Hmmmm.... maybe it's best that I don't now. Sure do like the greetings when I get home. :-D
