Good Morning LL ~O) Hopefully today will be uneventful, but with his beautiful AMPS, I will be on my toes. At least I will be home today :-D I got my insulin yesterday, but ended up getting the vile instead of the pens. I printed out the coupon and the pharmacist (not very nice  ) informed me that the coupon wouldn't work for this script, and then informed me it would be $300 and something  :o  Then I said thats for 5 pens and she said no, thats 3 pens. (I don't think she knew what she was talking about!! ) I said so each pen is over $100.00???? I said could you just sell me 1?? NO!!!!! She replied! So at that point, I opted for the vile. I told my DH that I was ready for just 1 thing to go right, just 1
I also have a question about a surf. I am confused about how to spot one. I understand that #'s that don't change much, that are pretty flat would be one, but is there a range that says it's a real surf? I looked everywhere in the stickys and glossary and couldn't find anything, so I thought I would ask this stupid question   I know it seems pretty obvious, but I have a hard time recognizing one, unless it's over. Thanks and have a great day LL :YMPEACE:

Re: 7/2 Hoot AMPS 114 Surf ?

I don't think it's a dumb question at all Pam!! I don't fully understand it either! There's so much new terminology we have to learn when starting this dance! I think sometimes the more experienced members kind of forget that we don't know what they're talking about without a little more explaination.

I've finally got a good grasp on what "bouncing", "clearing the bounce" and "shooting through a bounce" mean, but surfing still has me scratching my head too!

I'm sure someone will come around soon and try to explain...then we'll both know :-D

Re: 7/2 Hoot AMPS 114 Surf ?

When a kitty is surfing, it doesn't matter what the numbers are. For example, a flat yellow cycle or a flat pink cycle may be a surf. I tend to think we use the term more when a kitty is in green numbers and we want the cat to "surf" is a safe range and not drop too low. There are any number of times when I've indicated that Gabby surfed blue overnight and into AMPS.

Re: 7/2 Hoot AMPS 114 Surf ?

So Sienne, any #'s that are close in range is a surf? Even if it's only 2 #'s? Like yesterday when you were helping me, Hoot had a 69 and a 65, that would be a surf not a drop?

Re: 7/2 Hoot AMPS 114, +3.5/70, +5/76 Surf ?

Every one always said that of Shadow when she was on insulin ( looking back at her ss)

She would start at 80 and go to 70 and maybe back up to 80 each cycle. A nice green surf..... the ideal.

I think of it with our other term of being on a floor. the yellow floor or the blue floor... which then blue becomes a lagoon and so does green...

So Hoot started in the blue today, but under the 120 ( as desired) and is now surfing the 70's..... nice flat ideal green surf.
so far... a perfect cycle....

a drop is more like a decrease in bg by at least 50 or more....
Sienne's Gabby does dramatic drops.... she freefalls.

Re: 7/2 Hoot AMPS 114, +3.5/70, +5/76 Surf ?

Ok, it's making more sense now. Just takes awhile to sink into this thick head   Thanks Sienne and Rhiannon ;-)
Chris, I hope that helps you too and thanks for stopping by!! :-D

Re: 7/2 Hoot AMPS 114, +3.5/70, +5/76 Surf ?

yes, it helps! I've felt bad about bugging people here to keep explaining things to me (sometimes several times), so I just "tagged along for the ride" on this one :-D

Good luck with Hoot!! (gotta find out how Hoot got his name.....LOL)

Well his PMPS and +2 are definitely a surf, now that I'm a pro, I can tell    Goodnight LL, Be safe out there I-)
