Just out of curiousity, how large is Tigger in weight? I'm not sure which Fancy Feast you're feeding. I know that the Turkey & Giblets has 32.3 calories/oz., which almost totals up to 97 calories/3 oz. can. Excess weight could require an increase in insulin.
Here's a formula to help you with his diet:
13.6x(# of lbs. suitable for kitty)+70=total calorie intake/day
For instance... My cat, Blackie, was on Fancy Feast Turkey & Giblet, and this is the formula that I used to maintain her weight:
13.6x12 lbs.+70 = 233.2 calories/day
Then, I take 233.2 calories, and divide that by the amount of calories/oz. (32.3 calories/oz.) in the Fancy Feast cans, which equals to 7.2 oz./day of Fancy Feast. That's a little over 2 cans of Fancy Feast a day for her.
Here's a weight scale chart, which is more visual, and will help you to determine the proper proportion for your kitty:

Anyway, that's something to consider as well.

Tigger is about 13-14 lbs and possibly a bit underweight as his ribs were pretty visisble. I don't know what his ideal weight is as he's a solid cat.
I'm down to 4 cans now with a few chicken bits for snacks.
And he thinks he's starving

Ok, what flavor of Fancy Feast are you feeding him? You might be able to find it on here:

He could probably use another 1 lb. or 2 as he sounds like a fairly large male. You can easily weigh him by putting yourself on the scale first, and then pick him up and weigh the 2 of you together, then subtract the combined weight from your weight, which will be his current weight. Some cats would allow you to weigh them by placing them on the scale directly (Blackie's ok with that). Tigger may let you do that, too, depending on the scale you have. We have 2.. One digital, and the other the old fashioned dial type (which I prefer, even if I have to squint to read the #s :lol: ).
Is his backbone nicely covered...?

Ok, that's my boy! Down to 288, much better than the 4th floor.
Wow is it hot. I have central air and I have it set going non stop and can't get it under 73 in here.
I set it at 67 just to try and get it down a bit. 115 heat index out there, not used to this up here in da Nort !! :lol: :lol:
We hit -60 windchill this winter, now 115 heat index? Wow, pushing a 200 degree change (real temps of -35 and 104)

Yay Tigger!! I heard it was humid up there. My family all live in Iowa and they are melting! What a crazy weather year. Stay cool!

We've hit another 100 degree day here, and there's no end in sight, either. Humidity's about mid range (I forget what it has been). All I know is that it's HOT!!! :lol: My inlaws live in WI, also, in Sheboygan. Not sure what the temps there are as I haven't talked to them for awhile. I just hope that it'll cool down for you guys soon. All of the nation is pretty hot right now. Very weird weather.
