Good Morning LL! Well, so much for that increase! ohmygod_smile BAD BEAN! I slept through her +6 alarm (I actually had planned to get a test earlier!) I probably could have kept her from getting that <40. Still low this morning so I took the reduction. I think she enjoyed the PJ party last night. Very frisky this morning and breffis went downn quickly. I'm experimenting w/ giving her supplements w/ the Wellness, to see if she will eat her raw a little better. So far it looks good, or she just might have been really hungry this morning.

I weighed both Tess and Emma (that was fun! ) yesterday ; Tess 8 lb, 7 oz. : Emma 7 lb 12 oz. so Tess is back where she should be and Emma has gained a little. I have been giving them both the vitamin B Flea Treats. Neither has had any sign of fleas and Emma hasn't had Frontline since April! I put some on her yesterday though. I found one live flea on her and one stuck above her right eye. I needed a tweezer to get it off! This is the second time this has happened, the first time no other sign of fleas on her. Has anyone else ever seen this?

WCR All 5 Ps, Clean Plate Club, very playful, I think she enjoyed her new green kini!

Now to see if it is just normal early cycle rise or a bounce. nailbite_smile At least I can probably get a nap in!

Congrats on the decreasie, is that a word? Oh you are BIC? You were still up and I was just getting up for the day. Tell me more about those flea treats. I don't want to give Mags any topical treatment with all she has going on, and this is flea season here.
That must have been fun weighing Emma. :-D Have a great day.

LOL, that was a short lived increase!

Hi Ann......nice to see Miss Tess in green today
Weighing kitties is fun, huh?

I didn't know there was such a thing as flea treats. That's one of the reasons I don't take mine out on leash more often.
Also I had a tick on my dog, many years ago, and it got infected. I didn't know what it was, and just picked it off, before realizing it was a 'uh oh', so brought it with me to clinic, to be identified. Could that be what Emma had on her?

:YMSIGH: Well, I knew that was coming! :?

Ann, I hate putting it on Tess too, since she is totally indoor, but she would occasion get a hitchhiker coming in on our clothes. Especially when we were taking care of the neighbor's pets. These treats are a vitamin B complex that make pets unappealing to fleas. I was amazed that Emma was flea free for so long since she is outside so much. Flea Treats are made by a small company in Oceanside, so pretty near you. Tess and Emma get one morning and evening crushed up and mixed w/ their food. You can feed them as treats, but Tess can't chew very well and they are too hard for her, so I got in the habit of crushing them. she likes them though since they are liver flavored.

  Talk about trying to control a squirming ball of energy! I resorted to holding a treat like they do at dog shows. I still kind of had to guess at the weight. It bobbled around and I too the middle reading.

Barb, yes definitely a flea. I used my magnifying visor. Besides much to small for a tick and ticks swell up. This just looked like a little dot. I thought the first one was some of the dark gunk I still have to clean off Emma's eyes every day. But I couldn't get it off w/ the warm water as usual. So I got the visor and a tweezer and saw it was a flea. It didn't move at all and I really had to pull it off. I think it was dead and stuck there. It could also be that the topical flea stuff lasts a whole lot longer than they say and killed it once it bit her.

It doesn't take much to kill fleas, just soapy water. I use a spray kitten shampoo on her ears every night to get the sunscreen and all the dirt it attracts. That could have killed it too.

Ann, many thanks for this info on the flea treats. Sounds like a great alternative, and so nice it keeps little Emma flea free! Yes, Oceanside not too far away, 30 minutes on the freway if i were to drive. Even though Mags is total indoor, fleas still manage to get in here. I'm on the first floor, not that it makes that much difference, as I had fleas living on a third floor, too.
