Oh Monday, you always come too soon. I work late today, so DH will be home to to PMPS. Yesterday's curve didn't tell me much other than that it would seem we'll be staying with the same dose. Oh well, patience I suppose.

Sunday's Condo

AMPS 110 (fed 3.25 oz wf)
+3 119 (fed 3 freeze dried meat snacks)
+5 97 (fed 3 oz wf- going out) Max has been resting under the couch, which he usually does if he's high or low, so I fed him extra before leaving for work. He never looks comfortable when he's green...

Have a good one,
Holly

Looks like a good day for Max! Nice curve yesterday too--I think "flat" curves are the goal in terms of sugar control.

As for him not looking comfortable when he's green, how do you mean? I think, tho I am not sure, that I remember reading something in all the hypo info about some kitties being near hypo at higher numbers. It's one of those ECID things, but you'd really have to talk to some of the long-timer experts around here on that one. I think the guideline to start watching for hypo is 60, but for some kitties they start displaying hypo symptoms at higher numbers, like at 80.

Of course, he could just also be uncomfortable because the green numbers are newer to him and his system is more sensitive and needs to adjust. Again, talking to the experts around here would probably be good, certainly much more helpful than I am. ;-)

And what meter are you using? I think there are some that tend to read high, if your is one of those, then his numbers may actually be lower than what you're getting, which could also explain him not looking comfortable. I don't know anymore which meters are higher v. lower, but I'm sure someone around here does. Perhaps post that question (if indeed you are questioning it) over in health?

My Max was actually quite happy, playful, and rather fiesty at lower numbers--like in the 50s and 60s, tho every now and again he'd sprawl in the middle of the floor at those numbers. Usually he only laid in the middle of the room when he was too low or too high.

Under 100 Max gets aggressive, he attacks Leo (quite violently too, without provocation) and will swat at you when you walk past. He's also EXTRA vocal, asking to be fed. On the other hand, sometimes we'll find him hanging out under the sofa, which he never used to do. So much Drama!

As for test kits, we use the Bayer Contour.

Thanks Mindy! How's your Max doing?

I remember discussing with Jill once that Kitty seemed to feel better in low blues than greens, and she mentioned that sometimes they do... at first. So I think Mindy has a good point, that Max is adjusting. Kitty also got feisty when he started dropping to the 60s. They just feel different, but that doesn't mean it's bad!
