I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. Nicholas and I sure did. The weather was great, the sun was out, the temps were nice but not hot, and the waterfalls and creeks awaited us. He was one happy little boy. There was a small fish hatchery to visit, and the trails proved to have LOTS of berries! This is what I wrote in last night's post: "Hi everyone! I finally have a moment to settle in and update this condo... what a day! Nicholas and I went to Bellingham, up to Whatcom Falls. It is a place we have been to before, one he really enjoys. He asked for a waterfall, so that one it was. I like it there, he can get down to the creeks edge, and be right up by the falls. The upper falls has a stone outcropping that he can walk out on, onto the edge of the falls, step in them if he wants. He just loves that part. Creek was low enough that he could get out some in that too. Berries were very plentiful there, he picked his belly's full - all kinds: thimbleberries, huckleberries, wild raspberries, and blackberries. He knows which are which too, found more than I did. We also went to the fish hatchery that is located by the park, a stone's throw away, but half the tanks were empty, cleaning I am assuming. There were three full ones that had rainbow trouts of all sizes. That was fun too - kid loves the fish. We even saw two 2 inch long ones in the creek. We walked maybe 50 yards past the hatchery, hadn't done that before, and stumbled upon a pond there, with it's own spillway into the creek. Super cool find for him. It was a super fun day for him, one happy and tired kid on the way home. We lucked out too: clouds were gone by the time we got there, we had sunny skies, about 70/75. A gorgeous day "on the river"." While in route I took several photos of Nicholas in the back seat. His facial expressions and endless chatter crack me up. He is always so excited to be going somewhere ,and talks about anything he can remember about the place we are going. I love those car rides!: Nicholas: The Many Faces of Travel :-D :-D :-D Photos from the falls also include a few of the fish hatchery: Whatcom Falls. There are also about three videos in this lot of pics.

The welcome home committee was there today for sure too, TWICE! Once when I brought Nicholas back to the house, and again when I returned home for the day. SWEET! :-D :-D :-D Bug wanted his dinner - both times! He was very vocal about it, and wouldn't shut up. Hard to say no... you are too early Mr Hoover.... Elsa just wanted outside, and could have cared less abut what Bug was hollering about. Lola on the other hand was so excited to have me home that she climbed the palm plant that is in the entry way - all 10 feet of it. omg, that thing was swaying back and forth. I was just glad she didn't snap the stalks, as they really aren't that sturdy.... Nicholas's comment: "That LOLA, She climbs EVERYTHING!" yes, that she does...   Here's some photos that I took yesterday morning of Nicholas and Lola, hard a work with the water faucet: Nicholas and Lola: Water Faucets RULE!

Have a great day everyone. Today Nicholas and I are off to Snoqualmie and the RR station there to partake in the "A DAY with Thomas". We are off to visit the trains, Thomas, and have ourselves a ride on Thomas as well. it should be a fun day. I am so looking forward to it. I will try and get to condos when I can.

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!!

It is just so cool that Nicholas loves adventures rather than being parked in front of the TV!

Bug...lol, I love bottomless pit kitties. Lola climbing a 10 foot plant...oh my  . She loves adventurous as much as Nicholas does! Poor Elsa probably just wanted to get away from being trapped inside with those two crazies all day  !

Have a great day, Michelle!

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O) I so agree on Nicholas. I don't even have the TV on when he is here, never in the daytime. He'd rather be outdoors anyways, which is way cool. LOL, and so agreed on those kitties. I know on Elsa. I canm so see her wheelies turning....  THX on today, and will do.

Morning Michelle, what fund you and Nicholas have on your adventures. The Whatcom Falls looks like such a neat place. Always love the pics of Lola and Nicholas, too. She is fascinated with the water faucet. Oh my gosh on the 10 foot plant.  She sure is a Tomboy, love her spirit.
Elsa, outstanding coffee today and I'll take one of those fancy drinks, too. Lolo and Bug, i'll tkake three pizzas today and share with my neighbors.
Have a great time today with the trains. I bet Nicholas is so excited.

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) THX. Whtcom Falls is one of my fav places to take Nicholas. There is alot to do, and he can get down to falls level, and even in one section walk out onto the top of the falls. What a thrill that it. THX to on the photos of Lola and Nicholas. She is proving to be a good buddy for Nicholas. it isn't as good as it was with Mannie, but still nice. I know on Lola... omg on that plant - couldn't believe she did that. Up she went! THX on today - it should be really fun. And ye, he is. He really loves trains!
Auntie Ann! AWESOME! I will make lots of everything for you today, and a couple of frappes too! Lola and Bug are working on your pies, they say they will be there soon. Gotta get the cheese right they say. They is working on one for your neighbors too. :-D See you soon - watch for me! ~~ Elsa, Lil BIT, kitteh barista

Aww such sweet pics. And thimbleberries? Had to use google... So cool, with all of the varieties of berries near you!
Have so much fun today, Michelle! Can't wait to see the Thomas & Nicholas pics :-D

Scritches to hoover-Bug, gravity-defying-Lola, and wise-barista Elsa!

Hey Lil Bit,

It is sooooooooooooooo hot here, I couldn't breathe when I stuck my nose outside for a sniff and decided that I didn't want to sit on my porch throne today! Maybe tonight, I will when it isn't so hard to breathe. For today's order it must be cold, cold, cold. So you tell those minchkins to make me ice cream pizza pies and to bring lots of ice cubes!

Oooh and if you bring the Lola minchkin, tell her she can climb the tree out front of my place. It's really sturdy, has lots of branches is goes way, way up in the sky. I bet if she can climb to the top she can reach the sun, clouds and even the moon! Hmm, I wonder if she can see Mannie from way up high...she may be able to see him, so I'm going to write a message for her to carry up there. I need to know where he kept the extra set of keys to the roadster, not that I need them, but just in case, you know. And maybe Mannie can give a message to Sydney to tell her that we miss her and maybe she could visit sometime.

And the bean is bothering me, she wants to make sure that her Frappe request gets in and is extra chilled. She asks if you would deliver it to the pool today.

Get her soon, I'm getting hungry.

Signed Maui the Magnificent, staying inside today!

It sounds like you had a great time at Whatcom Falls yesterday. I hope the trains were fun today. That is so funny Lola climbed the plant. She's a character. I love the pictures of Nicholas in the car. His different expressions are so entertaining. The one where he's asleep is funny.

Happy Friday Night everyone!Time for Pizza and a brew or two! It is TPIF day after all. Lola! Bug! order up, please! ;-) Nicholas and I had a great time in Snoqualmie, and the Day with Thomas the Train event. They did a good job there in Snoqualmie, alot of volunteer effort t pull of an event with so many young children involved. The trains they use here in the process of renovation, date back several year, to the days when kerosene lamps were used for indoor illumination. They still have alot of work to do, but that part was kinda cool. I survived my outing with Nicholas to the Snoqualmie RR Museum so he could have a second go around with Thomas the Train. He had a blast. : )!! I'm still trying to recover from three hours of massive quantities of 5 and under kids! and the parents that went with them. O. M. G. it's OK though, the focus was on Nicholas and letting him have some fun. No doubt he did. It was fun to be able to ride on the train for a bit. The ride lasted about 30 minutes, and Nicholas really enjoyed it. You could tell how excited he was to be riding on a train. It was great! We went to the Snoqualmie Falls after that. BUSY there too. All the train folks had migrated there, LMAO, and expected. That trip turned into a berry hunting adventure. Lots of thimbleberries and huckleberries. All in all, he had a very good day. Me?: I so need a beer.... or something.... JUST KIDDING! it was nice to see Nicholas having such a good time, on the Thomas train, and hunting berries at the Falls. I will post the Picassa link in tomorrow's Loose Lips.

Hi Josie - THX! Hey I had to research those berries too! We found them on a trail a few months back, and I had no clue what they were... so looked them up. What an odd name, but it fits the shape of them berry. and yes, we are lucky: we can start hunting these berries in May/June and finish out August and September with the last of the blackberries. It is so nice! -- THX on today - it was fun for Nicholas. But it was way crowded, so one really had to be on your toes. The ride was fun just to see the excitement on his face! LOVE THIS:

:-D :-D :-D

MAUI - GF! OOOOO! Good idea on the COLD pizzas. They can do that! we do LOVE ice cream! and whip cream! and gooey stuff! I know.... FD friendly too! Lola is very excited about the tree. She loves to climb. She so wants to take a message up to Mannie, if she can, cuz she says he talks to her alot, and she would like to really see him. Is that possible? OK, we will try! I dunno on the roadster keys, but I bets they are in the treehouse. hmmmmm.... I want to see him too to tell BJ to send us a sign, we so miss her here. She says she will ask about Sydney too! ~~ Elsa, going outside today pssstttt - tell the bean ice is a for sure!, and no problem on the pool!

Hi Carla - THX! We did! and yes, the trains were fun! I thought so too on Lola. It was darn funny. I am glad that you enjoyed the travel photos. I did too! many many thanks on the photos!

So fun reading about your adventures with Nicholas. I look forward to the train pics tomorrow. I was talking to a friend of mine today who is just starting to look after her 1 year old DGS and I had all sorts of suggestions for adventures for her, based on your condos! Including swimming, but she's already started that. :-D

Yeah, I think you deserve the beer!  Nicholas is great, but that many kids all at once! sounds like great fun for the kids though. i'll have to tell john to check it out tomorrow, you know how much he loves trains. You saw the pix of the train he made for his DGS? On my Picassa link. He modeled it after Thomas, but used his own face!

Morning Wendy ~O) Many thanks! I hope the pics from the train adventure with Nicholas do the day justice. Very cool on relating our adventuress to your friend. I hope she is having as much fun as I am. :-D very good deal too on the swimming.

Morning Ann ~O) SO AGREED on that beer! I know on that so many kids at once. The place was kiddy bedlam! But they did do a good job keeping control of it all, and most parents were good at controlling their kids. YAY! They had alot of the area cordoned off so we couldn't get to as many of the trains as we would have liked, but ti was still good. Nicholas had a blast. It was, after all, Thomas! ;-) Yes on the pics of the train that john made - I remember it, but did look again this morning. I so remember him putting his own face n it. COOL!
