?ADMIN further explanation on DEPOT please. Did I spend Cali’s depot after questionable/partial fur shots on PM of 7/17 &7/18. I noted 1F? Because she moved both evenings and I could smell insulin both evenings although scruff not noticeably wet. Could have been drop on tip of needle hanging prior to shot that touched her fur. But for argument sake, let’s say one or both were missed. Is my depot now used up and I have to replenish? If all shots good, does depot keep building and storing until potential overflow? Also still question impact on depot if scruff is held or clipped to restrain while administering BG test? Does the ‘melting depot” flow into the blood stream or does the body hold the deposits of insulin under the skin?

‘reference: 7/18 AMPS 152, +3.25 79, +5.75 73, PMPS 118 maintained the surf by feeding mini meals every 1-2 hours until nadir then PMPS +2. Auto feeder for +4, +6 miss programmed so 1tsp +8

You didn’t get a second test last night and I bet Cali went lower and is bouncing. You can sometimes get a drop of insulin in the fur. Even if it was a partial fur shot the depot would not be totally gone, just dismissed a little.

Yes I can see the bounce. +3 down to 93, fed 1Tbsp LC. Will see how +5.5 goes. Does it take couple days for bounce to clear? How will I know it has cleared? Thanks for stop by

Please test at night. Get at least a +2 to see if she is rising or falling. If she is falling you will need to test more or at least make sure she has food available. I agree with Elise. Your kitty had a decent PMPS number and she probably dropped low last night which caused her to bounce at the AMPS. I know it is not fun testing at night but it can become necessary to keep your girl safe. If you have to get up in the middle of the night, to go to the bathroom, grab a quick test. My testing site is in my bedroom so I have all of Susie's supplies in there and try to get a test when I have to get up. I am not the expert here so others can offer better advice. I can't explain the depot as I am still trying to understand it.

A bounce can take up to 6 cycles to clear.

Fur shots can deplete the depot and impact timing of dosing changes. It'll help those helping you if you put an indicator, something like "FS" for furshot or "FS?" if not 100% sure, after the units amount in the spreadsheet.
