Yesterday, I drove to Boulder because they seem to have the only store in the area with some of the Greenies duck and pea pill pockets left. While I was there, I started talking to one of the store's employees who has an FD cat. She started taking care of this cat several months after he'd been dx'd and he was in really bad shape. She said the previous caregiver (for lack of a better word) was not doing anything to treat the diabetes and the cat was skin and bones.
Due to her lifestyle/philosophy, she doesn't give him insulin or test him but has been giving him this natural remedy they sell in the store called GlucoEnsure. She said shortly after she started him on this, he put on weight and has been doing extremely well on it for over two years now.
I was wondering if any of you have heard of this product or have delved into natural remedies to see if they helped treat the diabetes, e.g. lower the insulin requirement, stabilize the BG levels. I'm assuming not but just wanted to ask. I would never think to take Jinx off insulin but I'm not opposed to giving a natural remedy a shot if I think there might be a chance it could help. I still need to educate myself on the ingredients but here's a link to the product in case anyone is interested -
