Good afternoon LL. DH here. Marje is at her usual Wed spot - TBP.

Gracie had a nice run of numbers yesterday. We were a little surprised by the 50 at +4 last night, but she didn't go any lower than that. Looks like she is paying the price by bouncing so far today, but yesterday was her longest run in green in several days. So, time for the patience slacks (gentlemen don't wear pants :lol: ) and see if she will flatten out some.

We are still having trouble getting Miss Stinka to eat her Wellness from the 5 oz cans, especially the turkey. She turned her whole head up today, not just her nose. The funny thing is Gus was having Wellness turkey from a small can this morning so I gave her a helping of that and she cleaned her plate. So, off to the feed store for me to get some small cans for her. Hopefully this will help. Tobey still eats the large can Wellness just fine (he would eat anything that didn't eat him first) so we will keep feeding him from the big cans.

Way to go for your long stretch of greens Gracie! Sorry you don't like your food Lil Stinka!

Mike, what is the date on the bottom of the 5.5oz cans? I bought ones that were dated Mar 15 and they had liquid mixed in them as opposed to the jelly. Ella didn't mind them but I wasn't a fan of what was inside the cans so I took them back and switched them up for a different production date. Does the consistency of the food seem the same? I was worried that the Mar 15 cans were a bit off.

I went back to do a search of the board and found the following thread about Wellness and the various plants in which it is manufactured. It's rather difficult to determine what is what, but the whole discussion is worth another look, especially now, when so many kitties are turning up their noses at the 5.5 oz. cans. http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=40189&hilit=wellness+codes

Interesting about the cans....I know things defniitely differ from batch to batch. I see it with my herd, too. Trix doesn't eat Wellnes, but Mario and Frankie do. They eat chicken, and sometimes they can't eat it fast enough, and sometimes the next case will drag on and on. Many years ago, I bought some of the really large cans, and they smelled flat out rancid to me, so I returned them and wrote an e-mail to them. They assured me that all their facilities follow the same recipe for consistency, but this batch was not right at all. I didn't buy Wellness again for a number of years after that...between the bad cans, and their generic response to my concerns.

Anyway, I hope Gracie breaks that bounce quickly!! Have a great evening!

Mannie is with Gracie - no wellness turkey! and I am with Amy on the big cans - bought them once and they were the foulest smelling stuff ever, Kitties wouldn't eat it either. Gracie - Mannie says nose up girl!

Sorry for the yellows - looks like a resting day for Gracie - nice and even though. She'll be aback to the greens soon. :-D
