Ok so Bailey is eating better again yesterday and today so we aren't as worried, however the vet called and here are the blood and urine test results

- his kidney enzymes were mildly elevated however his urine showed it was concentrated so the vet considers this a sign of needing to drink more and not a kidney issue.. Whew!
- his alt level was 115 which is above high normal of 106. High is up to 315 or something. All other liver enzymes were normal. He said this could be indicative of thyroid issues .. Or it could be a result of his other issues in the trianinc? Area ie pancreas. But it wasn't high before in October.
- his thyroid numbers had jumped from 14 in October to 25. Above 50 is hyperthyroid. However he said levels vary through the day so the 14 could have been a low point and he ranges from 14-25. Or the 25 could be a low point and he actually is mildly hyperthyroid.
- fructosamine was "great" but he doesn't care about that since we are home testing. It just came as part of the package.

Given the kidney and liver numbers, and the fact he is acting better (eating better and no longer losing weight right now) he wants to wait 60-90 days and test again to see what happens then.

Anything I can do to try and bring the thyroid levels down?

So not too bad..

Also I was wondering because he wasn't eating well whether he developed a touch of hepatic lipidosis which was impacting his liver enzymes?

Hi Wendy.

I'm glad Bailey is eating better and that the blood work results were relatively good.

I don't think there is anything you can do about the thyroid levels. They are caused by hormones, and are either high or they're not. Usually cats that are hyper are very hungry and very active. If Bailey isn't either of those things, it seems it's a pretty mild case and may not get worse. I would assume it will just need to be monitored to be sure it doesn't get worse.

Sending good thyroid vines! :-D
