Yesterday

Day 2 of the regatta, Neko overdid the permission slip. This is probably a delayed bounce from whatever she did 2 nights ago. Plus the late budesonide dose yesterday - it seems to bring higher numbers the following morning if it's late. She was really slow to eat this morning. I was glad my heat race was a little later. I gave her some ondansetron and that seemed to help. I finally got enough food in her to leave and she was a very good girl and took her gelcap in one toss.

I am back between races. We actually made it into the finals (women's double). Second best time of the two heats - how did that happen? I have rowed exactly once before in a double with the other lady, and today it was a different boat. And we are rowing down an age category so probably the average age of other teams is younger than us. Now I'm hoping the predicted thunderstorms will hurry up and get here so they'll have to cancel the finals and award places based on the heats. :p

Congrats on the win!! Glad Neko gave you a good day pass and the gelcap was uneventful. Hopefully she'll head back down tonight.

Congrats on making it to the finals! That's awesome! ...and, Neko, behave yourself while your bean is out winning medals.

You can win! Yes you can!!

Neko, it's OK, but come back down to better numbers!

Hugs and scritches,

I, too, don't know what to cheer for. Rain? Win? But, congratulations!

Neko....permission is one thing, PERMISSION is quite another. Ease on down.

Old age and treachery beats youth and exuberance every time. ;) However you did it, I hope you won!

Neko, I know Mama wanted you to be safe today while she was out, but there was no need to overdo things. "Safe" means low yellow or high blue. Not stinky pinky. Please remember that next time.

And it just takes one clap of thunder.
As it turns out, it took two claps of thunder. They thought the storm was going around us and I heard an umpire say "we'll call the regatta if we hear one more". So we got in the boat and starting paddling to the start. I was planning all the things we would do better - there were lots. Then I heard a boom and all the boats on the lake came charging for the dock. Silver medal it was. They did ones with west coast native art on them. Much better than last year which was just a ribbon. Some finals with no heats were cancelled, including one DH was in. :(

And then I came home to an excellent PMPS and hungrier cat. :)
