Waiting for +2.5
Reviewing food charts again for 0-1% carb to see if that will help manage/maintain Cali’s weight as we are trying to regulate BGs. Obesity and 100% dry kibbles [taste of the wild] was the reason she became diabetic. Being the princess of the house [only cat], her lips will NEVER have access to dry food again.

She’s doing really well as a newbie. Anything under 10% is lc so don’t limit yourself to 1%. Some cats even do better with a little more carbs. Also get 10-15 in case her bg goes low. Is she liking the wet food?

Weruva and Tiki Cat are great brands to look into if you want Cali to lose some weight. I'm not so well versed on Tiki Cat's carb levels but I know that Weruva has low carb, medium carb, and high carb foods that are all high in moisture and good protein. If you look at my Ruby's SS you'll see a tab for Weruva where I've listed all of the carb levels. I agree with Elise, 0-1% carb isn't necessary, but I did stick to ones below 5% and fed foods between 6-10% early in Ruby's cycles if she started dropping steeply at +2 or +3. She goes crazy for any of the pouched MC and HC foods.

Cali is food motivated so reluctantly at first she switched because the dry food was completely removed from the house and garage. Now she can tell time and positions herself on the breakfast bar and awaits feeding. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for the feedback and food endorsement. Now I feed Friskes LC [4%] and 9 lives LC[4%]. Also Friskes MC [13%] and HC [20%] as needed. She has gained back 6 pounds since diagnosis October, 2020. I want to hold her to no more than 13 pounds since she feels solid/heavy again. I am certainly novice at feeding cycles but learning. However as you or someone said in one thread, this is not a model you can apply logic to predict the next cycle. I have looked at Ruby’s SS but will review again.
