I hate to add to all the sadness here, but Lucy could use a few snowflakes too. She has been under the weather for a couple of days. She is nauseous, breathing noisily, and in pain. We went to the vet yesterday and of course she was perfectly fine while we were there. We’re treating the nausea and treating as though she has CP, even though that has not been diagnosed. She got some fluids and injectable pepcid and other nausea medicine. She felt better for a while yesterday, but by 11:00 she was meatloafing and breathing loudly and looking painful again. I tried to pill an antihistamine they gave me, but it made her foam at the mouth for a good 15 minutes before she vomited everything she had eaten that evening. She wouldn’t speak to me the rest of the evening, but I stayed up all night watching her breathe. I have no idea what the breathing has to do with anything, but for me that is the scary part and it makes her very uncomfortable. She wouldn’t do it at the vet. She had chest x-rays last year and at that time had no signs of asthma, but maybe it’s time to repeat the x-rays. Vet also said she has seen a lot of cats and dogs with allergies this year.

Early this morning was still rough, so I took the morning off to stay home and watch her breathe some more. By the time I left for work, she had eaten some breakfast. She is still under the bed, but she is more relaxed, her breathing is MUCH quieter, and her eyes look softer, so hopefully the pain is less. When I left, she was actually sleeping. I have a call in to the vet to hopefully get some pain meds and fluids to have on hand for the weekend. I hope she is starting to improve.

It’s incredibly hard on me to see Lucy sick, more than my other kitties, because I can’t help but remember how quickly things went wrong for her the first time she was sick. I don’t think this is anything like that time, she is just feeling icky for some reason, but I want it to go away.

A blilzzard of snowflakes for Lucy. Lot of healing, vibes as well.

I want it to go away too. Sending a blizzard of snowflakes to blow all the sickness away.

Do you think maybe she masked her pain in front of the vet by not doing that nasty breathing thing? In front of you, she's safe.

Anyway, I hope it's a passing thing. Hugs, Libby.

A blizzard of softly falling snowflakes to comfort Lucy...

Healthy, healing vines to soothe her tummy and calm and quiet her breathing...

(((Healing vibes for Lucy))) Sorry, she isn't feeling well. I know how scary breathing issues are, my kitty Rat had asthma. Then I had to deal with Cecil's HCM and Jessie's chest tumor..sigh. I would get another x-ray done just to be safe. HCM can go bad quickly, I saw that with Cecil.

Oh, Libby...I hope this is nothing serious. I was so saddened to see your request for snowflakes for your special girl.

Sending so many prayers to you both, and healing snowflakes and vines by the ton. I will be keeping her in my thoughts and prayers, and looking for your updates.

Crap.
Lib, since Lucy is on her best behavior at the vets, are you able to get video/audio of Lucy's breathing and behavior? This way while Lucy is being the picture of health at the vet's office, you can still show what she's doing at home.
Please let Miss Lucy know that getting better is her only option.

When Punk saw this post, she right away ran to find snowflakes, and she brought some snowy meezers too.

Snowflakes for Lucy!

((((((((((((Thank you everybody))))))))))))

Lucy seems to be feeling a lot better tonight. Not 100% by any means, but better. I hope she has turned a corner. She came out from under the bed when she thought I wasn't looking, but when I spotted her she went back under. I think she's just playing me now. She still won't purr, though, and if you know Lucy you know that is a big deal. She purrs ALL the time.

Off to the store to stock up on Kleenex before I go read the rest of the condos. Maybe some liquor too (or at least some ice cream). What a day in LL.

aw Libby, so good to hear Lucy is giving you the run-around!
Ice cream sounds like a good plan.

Big hugs for ((((Lucy))))

oh gosh. what is going on with all the kitties? glad she seems better, hope the purrs come back soon. (((lucy))) (((libby)))

I'm glad Lucy is feeling a better.
Sending feel better soon vines, healing white light, and many many soft falling snowflakes to Lucy.

(((((Libby & Lucy))))) I hope she continues to feel better. I am so sorry you are both going through this.
Isn't that something that she didn't act that way at the vet office...I would think the trouble breathing would have continued even there if it was super serious...I hope that whatever it was will pass quickly....
Snowflakes and healing vines and a million prayers being sent your way..... :YMHUG:
