HAPPY MONDAY!!!

When I went to bed, Hershey was hanging out in the blues (185) at +7.5. Could the AMPS (349) be a bounce? I doubt he went much lower than (167) at +6, if any, would that be enough for a bounce???

It's a new cycle and a new day...hoping to tackle my to do list, waiting on a call from the urinalysis, too. They said Saturday or today. It's almost 1pm, so I'd think the call would be soon...I don't think there's anything wrong, but would prefer the results sooner rather than later. :smile:

Well, must go work on the age-old question..."What's for dinner??" or in our very Southern house - "What's for supper??" :-D

Will try to get by to visit as many as I can after lunch. Thanks, again, to everyone who visited yesterday. Nice to know y'all are helping me look out for Hershey. :-D

Hi guys .. It's nice to see hershey coming back down to some blues .. and nice and easy might I add! :-D I hope the vet calls you today with the results you are waiting for .. why oh why does it take some places forever and a day to call someone back?? We'll be having BLT's tonight for dinner .. no turning the stove/oven on today! have a great day guys!

Hershey is coming down!!! Sure that could be a bounce off a blue number, but it seems to be breaking :mrgreen: --LL is all about us helping each other..
We all need a kitchen genie that pops out whatever food we want for every meal :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: I actually love to cook...But not so much in the summer..
Hope the Hershey Bar turns green very soon--Hugs & Love from us

Hey, Devon - Yeah, the blues last night were nice, wish today's blue had lasted a little longer, though...When I called about the lab results, the tech said, "The results came in the other day." I dropped the specimen off on Friday, so that means they came back Sat and nobody had called me? She said the results were all within normal limits, except that he's spilling glucose in his urine. Have to say, I wasn't surprised that my unregulated diabetic kitty is spilling glucose in his urine...BLT's sound YUMMY!!! I think we're having pizza rice...it's been a while since we had it and Jessica really likes it. I NEED to get back in the habit of planning a menu. At one point, I was planning 5 - 6 weeks at a time. Sure was nice not to have to worry about what to fix.

Hey, Roni - Oh, a kitchen genie!!! What a GOOD idea! So, not having to worry about what to fix OR cleaning up afterward?! I like to cook, too, if I have everything here. But, I run in spells and no food sounds good, makes it really difficult to cook then. Thanks for the green wishes...from your mouth (or keyboard ;-) ) to his ears (or eyes ;-) )!!

Ugh .. stuff like that really works my nerves! I am glad however all results came back good, except for the glucose, which was no surprise .. pizza rice sounds different, mind sharing the recipe?

Hi Libby, did Hershey also have b/w? You could ask them to E-mail you the Labs results and then you would have it in your records and share here.
I gree with Devon, it sounds yummy and what is pizza rice? You sound like a good cook. I'm not so good in that area but do love good food.

Yes, could be a bounce off the blues, if Mr. Liver gets into a tizzy. He'll settle down eventually. Not soon enough, though. :roll: That is so irritating that the results came back and they didn't call. Grrr. I'm glad it was a good result for Hershey Kiss.

5 to 6 weeks?! That blows my mind. :lol: :lol: I grew up on a farm in Illinois and we had dinner at noon and supper at night. But now I have lunch and dinner.

I'm glad the results of the tests were good! Some vet offices are just terrible about getting results to you! I forgot to get a copy of Racci's results for myself also. I need to call and ask them to send it to me. You can probably do the same.

Pizza rice sounds interesting. What do you do, put mozzarella and sauce over rice and bake it? I bet that's good! I have a little mozzarella left over and some provolone. Maybe I'll make some with fresh green beans tonight. I never plan ahead. It's against my religion. :lol: I stopped planning when the last of the kids left the house.

Cats can bounce at any number. It all depends on what they're used to and what's low for them. If all they usually get is yellows & pinks and they get a blue, no matter how high it can make him bounce. ECID. :smile:

I hope Hershey gets over his bounce and gets back to those beautiful blues.

I usually make pizza rice in the crockpot, but all I have is boil-in-bag rice. So, I'm going to fix that, mix with pizza sauce, spices, add some browned ground beef and layer in a dish. Top with turkey pepperoni and cheese and bake until the cheese is gooey. I'm all about simple!

OH - Also, adding mushrooms to part of it (not MY part ;-) ). Was going to add green peppers, but forgot we used them all on the philly cheesesteaks.

Hi Libby,
I'm sorry I haven't visited in a bit. I try to get around, but sometimes I just fizzle out after a few condos. My pain never goes away, so I do what I can and then sometimes I never get back on.
I'm glad the test results are back and they are good. I can never wait out the time they tell me to, and I end up calling the office, no matter if its for the beans or the kitties.

Hope Hershey gets back to blue tonight!

I'm happy that Hershey's lab results were good. Ooh, doesn't that just frost your cookies, when they don't get back to you with results? I understand they are busy, but they have to understand that we're waiting and could be worried.

How nice that Hershey came down nicely from amps. Blue looks good, even for a short while. :-D

anyway..glad the bloodwork came back ok, except for the glucose,
but that is not surprise...hopefully by the next vet visit that will not be the case!

Yes, Devon - kind of bothered me, too. She was like, 'well, it's Monday and we're really busy.' I wanted to say, then maybe someone should've called me Sat. But, I just thanked her and got off the phone...so unlike me ;-)

Hey, Ann - No b/w since it was just done in Nov. i requested the urinalysis since it had been at least 2 yrs since one was done. I asked them to send me a copy of the results.

Hey, Liz - I'll be glad when he decides he likes blues...Yes, it was irritating that they didn't call. I wasn't sure if they had called the wrong number, or something was wrong with my phone or there was a problem with the results...I grew up calling them lunch and supper, as did my kids, until the older ones went to college and came home talking about lunch and dinner. :lol:

I was right with you till the hot salsa....(tender tummy, lol). Does sound yummy though!
I grew up in New England, and dinner was what we ate on Sunday afternoons. The rest of the week, it was supper, except we spelled it "suppah".
Check Hershey's paws for hidden springs?

:lol: :lol: Carl - We do call holidays dinner...like Christmas Dinner...don't know why...My uncle was a local farmer and he called lunch - dinner - but he pronounced it dunnah :-D

I know it's hard not to get upset over those high numbers. I still do even tho I know I shouldn't, tho finally Racci doesn't usually bounce high anymore. It will pass though and I think it was Marje who said to me that every bounce just means that it will be that much sooner until they don't bounce at that color anymore, which did make me feel better, and she was right!

As far as the glucose, this was the first time ever that Racci's urine showed no glucose dripping in her urine. I was really surprised and so was her vet. That's from all those normal range bg's she had been having before her decreases! See, just like the blues finally happened, that will too. Hershey is doing great. Those high numbers are just bounces.

I'll have to leave out the meat and substitute it with faux will like it too! Thanks for the new recipe idea! :razz: I'm so bored with the same old meals.

Hey, Melanie - I thought Hershey was finished bouncing to red, but clearly not. That (480) yesterday REALLY bothered me, as I HATE those black numbers and it was so close! Glad Racci arrived at glucose-free urine and look forward to the day Hershey arrives there, too. :smile: Hope you enjoy the recipe...had a crockpot chicken burrito one I was going to share with you, but don't think you can substitute anything for the chicken. :sad: I know what you mean...I get bored with the same old meals, too!

Sorry about that bounce, Libby! Hershey, what's up (apart from you and your BG)? It wasn't *that* dramatic, you reeeeally needn't bounce so high! Come back down!

Libby, your pizza rice sounds fab! Sort of like a Mexican/Italian risotto variation :smile: Did you just make it up? (I love cooking off-book, as it were.)
