Good Morning LL!!
(ah.... elixir!), and Happy Monday, if Monday's can be happy....
LL! It's is I, Elsa, Lil Bit, kitteh barista!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Today is CHEERY CHERRY MONDAY!! Lola and Bug want to make their cheery cherry pizza pies. I have to admit that they are pretty good! i just wish though that they would keep the cheery cherry whip on the pies, and stop squirting it all over the kitchen. They are all pink now...  OLLIE? We are going to need your sponges! The sliding will be mega good today! so. well. anyways.
Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and Double shot espressos, with beans from deep within the mountain slopes of Africa, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a VENTI Quad cherry infused white mocha/mocha blend with white chocolate chips melted within, topped with a cherry whip garnished with candied cherry sprinkles and white chocolate curls. SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of cheery cherry and chocolate swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, topped with crystallized cheery cherries and chocolate drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts are along for the ride!
I hope every one had a great day yesterday. I did go hiking, on a spur of the moment decision. It was meant to be a short one, as Monday's are usually my hike days, and I had intended to do a distance hike today. I kinda went a little farther than I had intended.
It was all good though. The weather was great! Sunny, blue skies, and arm, but not hot. I think is was upper 60's Maye 701's there. This was a river hike, and ever so pretty! The river seemed to have alot of glacial melt in it: had that color. I didn't think that was part of the deal there (glacier waters). Maybe the color was just from snow melt in general. dunno. Sure made the river look pretty. Here is what I wrote in last nights post about the hike: "Happy Sunday afternoon everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. I have just returned from a hike to Boulder River, near Darrington. What a good one this one was. Today was a great day to be outdoors, on a hike, on a river. The sun was shining, the skies were blue, and temps were mid 70's. This is a really nice river hike, with two great waterfalls There were nice views of the river too, though it really isn't too accessible. One can get down there, but the slope is really steep... I went part way down, spent a little time. The only drawback was that by noon the place was packed with other hikers... seems WTA (Washington Trails Association) published this hike last month, and when they do, the folks come in masses. I was the only car in the small (!!) parking lot at 9 this AM, by 2PM they were lined up down the road. FUN! well, yes it was fun. I'd do this one again. I logged 9.6 miles via pedometer, 9.0 via GPS. Starting elevation was 969 feet, top was 1525, with a cumulative gain of 1130 feet. Today was supposed just to be a hike to the falls, about 5 miles RT. LOL, and oh sure.... kept thinking "well that was cool, what else is around the next bend... " haha. ended up with 9/9.6. I worked!  I had intended to only go to the waterfalls, about 2.5 miles in, but as always happens, I kept thinking, well maybe just a bit further, see some more of the river.... Silly me!    It was fun!" Picassa link: Boulder River
I was greeted by the welcome home committee when I returned from my hike yesterday. I so love that! Lola was waiting on the stairs, and when she saw me come i, she rolled back and forth on the step.   That was so cute. Surprising that she didn't fall off. Bug was on the back of the sofa, which is next to the landing. I got a big MEOW from him and a kitty stretch, followed by a mad dash to the stairs, where he sat and waited for me to haul all the hike stuff upstairs. Seems Elsa was just plain hungry, and waiting in the kitchen by her bowl. Her I could not feed her fast enough!  Once again Lola made life interesting... LOVE THAT CAT! I'd gone to put a few things away, came back to the spare room upstairs where I store a few things. There was Lola, in the middle of the floor, with all the plastic bags I have stored in there, scattered all over the floor. it was no small feat for her to do this, as they are all packed together, shoved in a storage bin. It took work for her to make that mess. What I loved about it was that there she sat, right in the middle with the sweetest most innocent look on her face... here's the photos: Mess? What mess?
Have a great day everyone! My DD Erin will be by with DGS William for a visit this morning. Long of the short story, The other grandparents have arranged some sort of luncheon out with DGM friends, and want Erin to bring William for that. ;-) So.... Nicholas will go do his normal activities with them mid morning, and then Erin will hook up with all for lunch. Before all that she will stop by here. YAY! Time with the new little one.
It sounds like a crazy morning for my DD, alot of kid shuffling and driving, but hope it will be fun for her too.
