Yesterday
Trix is doing really well (anti-jinx)....no assist feeds yesterday, and we are on the same track today! She has eaten some very small quantities from a plate on the floor (not being held by MamaBean), too. I have to show her the plate on the floor - she won't just walk up to it and start eating on her own, but still, this is progress. More kitten steps
!
I've been experimenting with food textures. As I mentioned before, interestingly she actually really likes the food I've been assist feeding her, even though I heard they often develop an aversion to food that is assist fed. So yesterday, just to see what she would think, I mixed a little of the frapped food with non-frapped....she seemed to REALLY like it - even more so than either of version of the food on it's own. Maybe it's because it makes this food seem like something new, but no matter what her reasoning is, I'm going to keep going with this "blend" until she tires of it.
I am thoroughly exhausted from the bead show this weekend. I thought what happened on Saturday after the show was me "getting lost". Holy moly, that was nothing compared to what happened after the show yesterday...I got stuck on a road that took me straight into Staten Island, including a $13 bridge toll  ! OMG, I hate hate hate driving in North Jersey - roads are confusing signs are vague, road designations suddenly disappear, and before you know it, you're forced into New York! After I got lost on Saturday, DH and I had several very thorough conversations about what I needed to do to NOT get lost yesterday. The one big mistake we made was to NOT look at maps while talking. I followed what he said, but unfortunately, it was only partially right. I needed the soutbound version of the road he told me to take, but where I was, I only had access to the northbound version...something we would have realized had we looked at maps.
GoogleEarth is really cool, though. After the fact, I could show him exactly where I was, and he told me exactly what went wrong. Would have been nice to figure that out BEFORE the fact ohmygod_smile ! I told him if I'm ever stuck manning the booth for that show again, I'm just going to get lost the way I did on Saturday...that was much easier and much cheaper to straighten out than yesterday's fiasco!
I'm hoping to start catching up with everyone today, but it take me a couple days to really get back on track. I have to work today, but so far I am barely awake.
I was thinking about everyone, and I did peek in here and there from my phone when I could. Sending out extra prayers for Lucy and J.D....feel better, kitties!
Have a great day, LL!
