7/14, Susie, Two Nadirs in One Cycle?

I have always been told that once a kitty goes up, after two hours without food, that I probably would not need to test again.

Seems Susie has had two nadirs at different times today. She has not had food since +6 but has continued to go down after her rise (from food) at +9. I'm glad I did not stop testing at +9. Is this common?

Two things. First, she's breaking a bounce. Second thing, have you heard of the Lantus double dip? It's a little dip at the end of the cycle, like a mini "U" at the end, where they go down some, but not a slow as the first nadir. Paws crossed for a lovely surf tonight.

She still isn't coming up much. She is at 76 at +3 tonight and this is after low and medium carb food. I just loaded her up with more medium carb. Can't believe that she has taken this turn on the new increase. I can't seem to find a happy medium. 2 units lost its zing and 2.25 has too much zing. Oh well. I'm happy she saw some good numbers today. Thank you for asking, Suzanne.

We are okay. Susie is lower than I would want at 9:00 at night (76) but hopefully the extra medium carb will bring her up a few hours until I test her again.

Hi Summer, it looks like Susie is being her unpredictable self. I know how frustrating it is when they throw unexpected numbers at us. She is in a safe place now so let’s hope she is done dropping for the night. As always I check her SS daily to see how she’s doing. Hope you get some sleep tonight.

I know it makes you nervous, but these are actually great numbers! Trust me, once you get over your fear of green, you become addicted to it! If China had 2 blue numbers on the same day I started thinking "maybe I need to go up a little"!

It is hard on the beans though. Cats run on a different clock than ours and think 2am is just a wonderful time to be wide awake and getting into trouble!
