Morning ~O) ~O) a rather strange day yesterday with Maggie so high (for her)! A nice pm blue, but it didn't last long. Some of her AMPS is definitely overnight free feeding. Poo patrol unsuccessful going on fourth day or fifth. Miralax just not working! I was going to make a trip to the health food store for Slippery Elm Bark, but I think Maggie may be visiting Vetty today if I can get her in and Monday for sure if no activity. I think she may need extra help. Starting the next poke, I'll be using the Relion Confirm over the weekend. Today there was a 61 point variance between the two meters with the Relion Confirm reading at 149 and the new AT at 210. Definitely something is off with the new AT meter, just as there was with the Freestyle Lite at the one time and also a meter Michelle had used.

I am using the Relion Confirm solely (except for the AMPS 210 which was the new AT)! I can't wait for Pat & Shadow to come along and give us a pat on the back! :-D I have a rep here. Something was just not right with the AT new one!

Hi Jane, thanks for your visit. Yes, I don't know if I should wait any longer. I was keeping my fingers crossed and waited til I had my first cup of coffee before checking the lb and still no poo. So keep the poop vines coming, :lol: Tamara and Ella strted these vines.

Gosh Maggie, what's the deal with the poop? I hope she is pooping as we speak.
Maybe Anne, Liz, and Zener will send Inspector Poo to investigate.

Those Relion numbers do look nicer than your new AT. I hope you figure out which is working best for you.

Morning Ann - bummer on the meter - but I really don't blame you for thinking of a change. When the meters read high like that it is just not any fun. I ditched mine (Infinity) and went with one I felt as more consistent with what Mannie was doing (thru vet readings and back up meters) , and what other people on the forum were experiencing. Good luck!!

Oh wow on the poo patrol. What's up Maggie? Bummer on the no go with miralax. Never used slippery elm bark, but have read here that it does work. ?? I will join Barb in that poopy dance for Maggie.

I hope your day is a good one! Maybe a walk?

Thanks for your poop vines, too! It just worked. I followed Mags into where her lb is located, and she did it after digging and digging and making the perfect slot for her deposit! :lol: I had a call in to the Vet to see if they could do an exam, and so glad she came thru with the vines, so no Vetty needed.

Thanks Michelle! She had me worried! I am still waiting for my Zoom zooms, but guess I will have to wait til next time.

Probably one of the very few places where "HOORAY FOR POO" is a totally normal thing to say :-) Congrats, Maggie, finally!

Ann, I think you've earned yourself a treat with all that worrying! Have anice cup of tea. Or glass of wine. Or shot or tequila :-)

Thanks Michelle for your comments on the meter situation. I just saw your other post above on it! Yes, I can see now that the new AT meter was really off with the variance 60 and over between the two meters when it should only be 30 numbers variance. I remember the Infinity and Freestyle Lite meters giving wonky numbers. Her AMPS is the new AT meter and the rest pokes are from the Relion Confirm, very user friendly.

CD, I know what a relief is right, Maggie, too! :-D I'm sure next poo I'll get some zoom zooms which she likes to do right after a poo! :-D

We all understand how important it is to find the lb is put to use! :lol: Have you called int the poo inspector for further investigate? :lol: Was it too dry? Hair inside?

:lol: :lol: I better have Inspector Poo take a look. It does seem dry, but Mags has short hair and doesn't seem to groom herself much, strange for a girl! I was glad she didn't strain too hard!

Hi Ann! I'm so glad that Maggie finally pooped! That can be a problem. How much Miralax were you giving her? You do know you can give 1/4 tsp twice a day, right? I give that to Racci every day since she has problems and when needed I give an extra dose. It will not hurt her. The worst that can happen is a too loose stool, no fun but better than a blockage.

If it was hard and in balls or not straight and smooth, she may still be constipated and I would give a few more doses until she is regular again. So glad she went! :smile:

Hooray for poo! I'd have been worried after that long too. Ican take a while for the Miralax to work, but it is nice and gentle on their systems. We give it to Tess if it has been more than 2 days. although w/ the raw food we don't worry if it is only one day.

I'm glad that you made the switch. You'll like the price of the strips too and no more calculation to see if it qualifies as a green number! @-) :lol: :lol:

Thanks Melanie, I was only giving her 1/8 tsp twice a day, but then the last couple of days did get it up to 1/4 tsp/day. I guess I was worried about the liquipoo, but now I know. It was more straight and smooth and not in balls. I will keep giving next couple days to make sure she stays regular. Some here give every day.

Ann & Tess :lol: I think that new meter was a blessing in disguise. was wanting to make the switch but keeping the AT because of Vet and it being close to theirs. It is just too off with the numbers. These low blues on the Confirm would be a 200 on the new AT!

This condo is both educational and amusing! It's nice to have a sympathetic group of cat owners to discuss those intimate details with :lol: I'm sure Maggie is feeling so much better now.

Good luck on the switch to the Relion. I did the dreaded Freestyle to Relion switch a while ago. Also interesting to hear about the new AT being out so much. My vet had asked if I was interested in the AT, but not really pushing it.

Wendy so glad it's both amusing and educational, too! :lol: Where else would we be so happy after kitty has a poo! That's great your Vet isn't pushing the new AT. They should realize it's so expensive for the pet owners and especially like us testing so many times/day.

The poo patrol can get on the road to come inspect the evidence, if needed!

We were sure glad when we finally made the switch from the AT to the Arkray mini, we have the Relion as a backup. It took a little adjustment but it is much easier to use, and the savings on strips was sweet.

The AMPS is affected by food, as I gave her Miralax with food at the +8! This was before the magical poo!

Anne & Zener, what a cute pic pf Chief Inspector! :lol: Sure you'r welcome to come do the investigative inspection, too! She feels so much better I'm sure.
Yes, it does seem a little strange changing meters. Some Vets don't realize that human meters can be used.

Sooooo glad Maggie pooped! Yay! Only on FDmB. :lol: That is something about the meters. The RC strips are much cheaper so I'm glad you finally switched. I'm an Arkay girl myself. Have a great night Ann!

Melissa, yes only on FDMB can we excited over the poop issues! :lol: Yes, good deal on ADW with the Arkay strips. It's taking a little adjustment, but I'm sure financially I'll settle into it just fine. Have not told Vetty yet.

Liz, she sure does feel better and is so happy Detective Poo is proud of her. :-D

So, last night -Friday night - I'm sending out good poop vines. Saturday is even better...I'm so happy see that Miss Maggie Pooped! I think it's official: my college days are over, and I am, indeed, a crazy cat lady! Mags was the first condo I had to check tonight. Looking forward to hearing about the zoomies tomorrow!!!

I'm glad it seems to be cleared up Ann. It's really a drag to have to go to the vet with a blockage!

Thanks Amy, that's so sweet of you checking our condo first to see if the poop vines worked! :lol: They did and the power of the FDMB vines and Miralax! College days over for sure and crazy cat ladies. I hope to report some xoom zooms tomorrow.
