Cali threw up watered snack of 1tsp watered LC 9 lives between 2am and 4am. ‘AMPS 67, fed 2Tbsp LC, +0.5 78, fed 1tsp LC, + 2.5 fed 1 tsp LC& watered tuna juice, +3 63 fed 1 tsp Fr shreds/gravy. Cali has hyper? [skin rolling]. She growls & licks/bites tail and paws. Worse after eating. Still trying to determine correct dosage. 1U Lantus 2x daily appears too small. 1* [less than 1.25] increases BG back up towards 200s. Ordered calipers per advice. Monitoring closely. Any forums/guides recommended on skin rolling which she has had periodically for years. Is this related to the diabetes? No evidence of neuropathy in back legs.
Cali gained another 4 oz from last week [up to 13.6 pounds]. No ketones to night. PM gave her 1/2 dose BUP for hip pain [.005ml].

She's seeing nadirs in the 50s on 1U. I don't think she needs more insulin. In fact, I wonder if she's dipping below 50 and bouncing from those lows.

I agree....if you get a 50'something, it's important to get another test or two after it to make sure she's not dropping below 50.

As for Hyperesthesia, gabapentin is often helpful but it's something you need to discuss with your vet.
