Happy Friday 13th, we love black cat day!

After last night's swoop below 50 and green surf, looks like a little bounce behavior today. Appy isn't stellar this morning, but numbers are on the up side anyway.

@julie & punkin - sorry we left the PJ party, hope you got some sleep. @-) The reason it is politically savvy for me to be in a GB made uni, is I am at the games as an official so not with any team, and since it's the London games, all our uniforms are made in GB.

@Ann & Tess - hope the Tesser didn't get into too much trouble with the boys in the lagoon last night. ;-)

@Wendy - there are several of us on the west coast of north america who have kitties that like the night life! :lol: You and Neko can join us anytime! So...you were a smurf!!! Loved those blue uniforms, and I didn't know about the Bay - made in China and majority owned by the US. Good grief, it's a crazy world.

One more roofer just arrived to finish up a bit on our back porch, but shouldn't be here long. :? The kitties just came slinking in with little growls. :cool:

Boooooooo, on the return of the roofer! At least you have an excuse for the rise in BG! ;-) Things will be better when he is gone.

Black cat day is best isn't it? I used to have a black cat (Herman) too while i was growing up, my dad got him for me because every other kitty he had gotten me had been cat nabbed, so he got a black one thinking "everybody thinks black cats are bad luck anyway" we had Herman for 18 years.....he was the best!

Cmon Zener, eat your fuds, they are good!

Shelters are full of black cats and even black and white have a hard time getting adopted. I've heard of some having special "black cat tie" dinners featuring those kitties. I'm always happy when I hear people who deliberately want black kitties. Sounds like Zener was quite the catch. After the lagoon party last night, Neko is following Zener's footsteps but a bit higher. A repeat performance tonight maybe?

I was a smurf at the sliding centre during the Olympics and at the medals plaza in Whistler during the Paralympics. Got to see all the medal winners. You'll have a great time being part of the event. Go to your local municipality and see if you can get pins for trading. My municipality gives them out free to residents (as PR) and I traded for a bunch of cool ones in return. You may not think you'll get into pin trading, but everyone does.

@Ann & Tess - aaargh on the roofer, the kitties think we are big liars. :lol: It was only one man and he came back to do a little finishing work over our back porch - short, sweet and not too noisy. @Tracy & Leo - Zener is the best kitty and brings us loads of good luck, since the day he licked my finger at the rescue place where we got him! :razz: Black cats are so very handsome! He's doing a little better with his fuds, always a relief. Safe travels to Colorado and we hope Leo loves his hotel adventures!

@Ann & Maggie - thanks for the appy vines, it's working! And Zener is on his slide already. Poo patrol here was successful though the evidence was a little soft. :lol: We hope the Miralax helps Maggie. I read here in LL to be sure and add in more water to food when on Miralax as it absorbs water from the body to work, so can be dehydrating for some kitters.

@Wendy - that is so very sad about black cats not being adopted, people can be so strange about things. Zener was such a catch, but he really found us! Not sure if a repeat is on tap for tonight, but he is on his slide already. ;-) How cool you were a smurf! We loved the Smurfs, so positive and helpful - they made the games! We spent our time in Vancover at the opening of the Paralympics, then at sledge hockey and curling. We got to Whistler one day for nordic and went by the medals plaza - maybe I saw you! This will be my 5th Paralympic Games and each is very magical. And pins, I love pins... I already have a few ready to go! The best part of trading is chatting with people from all over the world!

Zener seemed to be having some tummy discomfort, almost like cramps, so we did some tummy massage and managed to get his Zantac in him mid day. He is feeling better this afternoon, and has eaten his usual amount this cycle, just spread out in more mini meals. :smile: Paws crossed his appy continues into the PM cycle.

We'd be liking this :mrgreen: if the big guy was eating. Ate decent at shot time and +1 but not since, other than pill pockets and treats. We've added in some appy stimulant so paws crossed that kick starts his appy in another hour. Dropping numbers and no appy makes us nervous. ohmygod_smile

Looks like the infamous Zener slide is at work tonight too. Love the PM cycle! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: but I do hear you on the no appy and dropping Numbers... :shock: wish you gyus luck.Mannie ha always been a good eater, and I think these days I didn't have a full appreciation on what a pain it is when they don't eat until he started doing that. :shock: :shock: :shock: not fun! So -Zener: be good and eat your fuds! Please....

Hey, Wendy - I thought ALL cats were black...wow - this forum really is educational! Our Smokey was black, Hershey is all black, Oreo is black and white ;-) I'd never heard they were harder to adopt out. How sad. :cry: :cry:

So sorry for the late visit, hope I didn't wake anybody up. :lol:

I hope Zener's tummy is feeling better tonight and his appy is back. Also glad those nasty roofers are gone. Daphne just hates people around making all that noise and bothering her solitude.

Wow Zener has been having dome nice cycles...at night, of course! I hope his appy picks up.

Good news with the roofers gone and the rufous back...they are my fav hummingbirds :-D

How exciting for you, Anne...no matter who made the uniforms :razz: :razz:

I'm cross eyed from messing with all the dosing stuff...syringes, micropipettors, calipers....it's like a biotech lab in my kitchen :lol:

Oops, maybe we overdid the carb treats, hard to judge when the big guy's appy is iffy and numbers are low. :? Good news is the appy stimulant kicked in and he has eaten his usual amount for the cycle, just not front loaded like we prefer to do.

@Michelle & Mannie - no worries about the time, I'm still up! We are so delighted for the good US report for our Mannie! Zener was on the slide for a bit and now has switched to the trampoline. The appy issue is a toughie and so not fun, you are right! Here's to better eating for our boys.

@Barb - nope nobody awakened here :lol: ;-) Zener's tummy seems better, he just gets in these spells where he doesn't want to eat. I know that happens with humans with diabetes too. We are fully sympathetic with Daphne on loud people disturbing our solitude! The excitement is for the Paralympics, for athletes with disabilities. The games open a week after the Olympics end, and I'll be working in London for the games. Sunday I leave for a sports science conference held right before the start of the Olympics, it's in Scotland.

@Marje - we are sure hoping his evening cycles calm down while I am gone. Liz will be BIC and does not do nights well. We are probably going to shave his dose back to the 1.25u while I am gone so he might run a little higher numbers to be safe. I'll leave Sunday night and will be gone 10 days. You are definitely the mad scientist now! We are eager to know what you find out about the Terumos. Maybe these inconsistent syringes are what makes it hard for us to get our kitties regulated!
