Good Morning, LL
For the 2nd time this week Blackie got down in the 40's last night. Normally that would mean a dosecrease, but other than those brief visits to the 40's, his numbers haven't been that good. Should I really do a dosecrease? Or is it okay to wait?

WCR: Blackie is feeling pretty good. Since I set the alarm later because of being up last night, he came into the bedroom to wake me up. I got him to get in bed with me and snuggle until I was ready to get up. He's been getting lots of outside time and is still eating well. He was howling at the outside water bowl this morning, though, and I'm not sure what that means.

Re: 7/13 Blackie amps 366 Question??

Looks like Blackie is doing very well. Not sure what the howling means, did the water need changing? hmm hard to interpret cat speak.

Re: 7/13 Blackie amps 366 Question??

Could he be smelling an unknown visitor at the water bowl?

I know Tess is doing better now that I am holding her to 3 under 50 tests. I'm not sure if she is still considered a newly diagnosed cat or not. See what your advisors say, but many ore approving the go slow approach, especially with the big bounces.

Re: 7/13 Blackie amps 366 Question??

Could it be that his numbers aren't that good because he's really bouncing from those lows? I'd change your subject line to read "dosing question" so that the right people are sure to peek in on it.

Howling at the water bowl, huh? Weird. I'd say the smelling an unknown visitor might be likely, especially with all the wildlife you guys have there. Or maybe he's just losing his mind. Eve walks around the house and howls/meowls at the weirdest stuff: the closet door, the back of the TV, the fireplace screen... :? She sounds like she's lost her best friend and is really, really sad about it.

Re: 7/13 Blackie amps 366 Question??

Well I am no dose help but I am sure one of our advisers will show up for you soon (((HUGS))) to Blackie

Re: 7/13 Blackie amps 366 +5 426 Question??

That +5 kind of answered my question. I know the fluids are playing a part in lower numbers at night, but what is up with these huge bounces?? Blackie didn't used to bounce like this.

Re: 7/13 Blackie amps 366 +5 426 Help with Bouncing??

Its looking like Blackie is on a perpetual trampoline. He goes low at night, partially due to the fluids he's getting at night. Then he immediately bounces high. In the past he didn't bounce this high or this often. Is there something I can do to stop this? At night he eats at pmps, +2, usually +3, +4 and +6 or +7.

Re: 7/13 Blackie amps 366 +5 426 Help with Bouncing??

I'm kind of in the same boat with Napoleon. He bounces from every green, every blue and even yellow. It is driving me insane. If you find an answer please pass it on.. (((Hugs))) to you - we're in this together :)

Re: 7/13 Blackie amps 366 +5 426 Help with Bouncing??

So lets see some nice low surfing numbers-K? HUGS ffrom us!!

Re: 7/13 Blackie amps 366 +5 426 Help with Bouncing??

hmmmm sounds like the Mannie school of bouncing! I hope Blackie hasn't been listening to Mannie at all these parties... or lent him his trampoline or bungees. Mannie is a horrible bouncer. I know for us the change in when he is fed made a huge difference, and really leveled him out. granted he still has his days, but overall it is better. I feed him at the front of the cycle (ps, +1, +2, +4) and that is it. and a snack at +9 - unless of course he has really low numbers, and then all of the above changes. Our goal is to slow the drops, to reduce the bounce. it has helped.

anyways... hope you and Blackie have a great night. interesting on the howling, and what is up with that?.

Re: 7/13 Blackie amps 366 +5 426 Help with Bouncing??

Hi Ele, Stu bounces, too, but usually not that high. It looks like you are already feeding many mini meals, but maybe you should try the system Michelle and Mannie use: PS, +1, +2, +3, and then +9. This is what I generally do, too, but I feed AMPS, +1, +2, "lunch" at +6, and then a snack at +9. In the evening cycle I feed at PMPS and then not until +4 or so (bedtime) and leave a small meal in the automat to open at +9.
It sounds to me as if you saw lots of wildlife on your paddle Sunday. I love to see the bald eagles. And here we are overrun with wild turkeys. Good luck with your bouncing problem.
