Morgaine's BG is the highest I have seen since testing her myself. Her symptoms are back and I can tell she is not feeling great. She is eating but she is drinking and peeing more than she should.

Re: 7/12 Morgaine AMPS 226 and symptoms are back

You really are going to have to get that Patience going there as that is what works here--And Consistancy!
For A Newbie kitty, a dose should be held 5-7 days so it can settle into the cat's body & work.. And for a dose increase , at least 3 full days to see any progress.
Most FD cats drink a lot & urinate a lot...But eating & eating & eating, that might be one symptom, & laying by the water bowl all day & night,& constantly drinking, that might be a symptom.
You cant rush getting your kitty better--That's why we are asking you to get those patience pants..
The goal is to have a well kitty--The green will come, just go slow, Morgaine is actually doing very well--
You are doing just fine, please dont panic, this is a process here..OK?

I know it's hard to believe, but Morgaine's numbers do look very nice. It does take a while for kitties to start feeling better after begining insulin...unfortunately, it's not a super-quick fix, but with time and patience, it does happen! Yeah, we all have a rough time with the "patience" part, especially in the beginning, because we just want our kitties to feel and be better NOW. Until they settle in, though, there are going to be ups and downs. She'll get there - really, she will!

Keep up the good work!

Morgaine has some very nice numbers. The one thing you need to remember is that this is a marathon, not a sprint. I know that is easier said than done.

Re: 7/12 Morgaine AMPS 226 and symptoms are back

Thanks for the encouragement. I needed that. When my BG is high I just give myself a little extra Humalog and down I come. I know kitties are much different and I know I am very fortunate that Morgaine's numbers are mostly in the blue and not all over the map. I have been looking at other SS and seeing all sorts of ups and downs. so I can see that Morgaine, with her relatively steady, flat curve, is doing just fine. I really had no idea I could be giving her insulin for over 2 weeks with little real movement. BUT, we had a great day on Sat. and that proved to me that the PD/PU was diabetes related so I still feel really relieved knowing that.

I thought I was a patient person but when it comes to my girl, I guess I just want her feeling good again and I want to see lower numbers. I really appreciate the pep talks here. You have no idea how much it helps me let go and allow this to do its thing. Meanwhile, she is really doing okay and it is ME that is all worried. In fact, she made several trips back and forth in and out of the bed all night while I slept, just to let me know she was okay. She is so sweet. She will cuddle up next to me, head on my knee and take a nap and then go off to do her nocturnal things, like sleep in MY chair and then return to see if it is wake up time yet.

She, with your help and hard work, really is doing very well!
(Take a look at BKs ss, oh...say around June of 2008...you'll feel better... ;-) )

When I click on BK's SS I get a message that page can not found.
