Not sure on this one and I hope one of the experts will be on hand soon.

By the way, do you have your hypo kit ready? One of the ways our kitties tells us that they're ready for a decrease is to dip down below 50. You'll want to have some high carb food on hand to help bring them above 50 as well as lots of test strips.

A couple of questions...

Are you around to test today? Can you get a +1 and a +2 and more, if needed. Are you stocked with strips and HC food should they be needed?

Alternatively, if you stall, can you afford to be off schedule?

Hypo kit = yes. Test strips = okay, but I only picked up the 20 strips at Walmart so if mail doesn't come again (oh please come!) we would have another Walmart run ahead of us soon. But knowing that she's ready for a dose decrease would be worth it. :)

Yup. Go ahead and shoot!

I won't be around to follow up with Star and you. (I gotta go earn $$ for insulin and strips.) Remember there's my post on managing low numbers, should you need it or if there isn't much traffic on the board.

Thanks! We went for it. Ultimately it's still a half hour later then yesterday AM though, with my waffling. :) But we're keeping a close eye on her.

A failed couple of tests, but DH got her at the +3 mark. No time like the present to work out the bugs with how we use the new meter. Hopefully he can get another test in soon. I'm at work, so I can't update the spreadsheet yet.

Yay New strips. And tonight is looking like a lesson in communication for me and DH. After I gave the shot in the PM, I remarked how odd it was that her bg went up at +4.5. Oh, he shrugged. I gave her a HC treat. Sigh. So maybe she would've earned a decrease this afternoon instead of giving me such a +1 to start the night with.

To his credit, he had got the vibe from my interest in whether she would go below 50 as meaning we would have to rush her to ER if she did, not just a dose adjustment. Mental note, don't talk to DH on IM about things of import.

LOL Too funny on the DH lessons!! Star is looking great regardless of high carb treats!! Fingers and paws crossed that you're down to that solitary drop soon!
