Re: 7/1 Simon AMPS 371

He was 273 @ +6 confused_cat ohmygod_smile

Not sure what is up with that except hubby said that Simon ate 1.5 cans of FF 1.5 hours prior to the test. But, it is still 5% carb beef feast and that should not raise it that high from his usual nadir numbers in green or low blues, right? :YMSIGH:

He goes back to 2.75 units tonight. I don't want him in these high numbers all day long. I need to make sure he does not sustain long term damage to his organs because with a human meter, this means he is likely over 400 this morning in reality.

Should I not be raising him back up? What do you all think?

Actually 371 means it is somewhere in the range between 297 to 445 mg/dL. Assuming the production of the meter didn't vary from what was used to provide the data to FDA (see the Think Tank discussion on glucometers)

High is high, though, and doing something to lower it makes sense to me.

Re: 7/1 Simon AMPS 371

Hubby had a dyslexic moment when he read me his reading for +6. I came home from work and looked at the pad he writes the numbers on and sure enough, not 273, it was 237...still high, but lots lower than his AMPS reading of 371. Giving him a fat 2.5 tonight (sort of in between 2.5 and 2.75 if you will) and will see what happens.

Thanks BJM.

Prepare to get a mid cycle test.

You got a green nadir with the same dose on a PS of 307 on the 29th, and a blue one on a PS of 282 on the 30th.

He is a cat afterall.
