Re: 7/1 Rupert AMPS 396, +4 131

That's a really fast drop, there, Rupert (over 60 points an hour). Slow it down a little.

Hope you guys have a good day.

Does BEBT mean bright eyes and bushy tailed? I tried to google it and got a response that said "did you mean debt?"

ETA: to get you link to yesterday to work, you need to move the first ] to right after the first l in url

thanx Dyana, yes BEBT is bright eyed and bushy tailed.

re the drop.. 60pts an hour? fast? NAH, that's actually SLOW for Rupie, he usually prefers 100+ pts an hour!

Re: 7/1 Rupert AMPS 396, +4 131

HI Pip. Rupert likes to do things that make him bounce the next day. That's what his buddy Checks is doing today. :-D
I hope this short condo means you're out have loads of horsey fun!! :-D :-D :-D :-D

Are you feeding the drop? If you can slow things down, you may see less bouncing. Also, when are you feeding him?

Re: 7/1 Rupert AMPS 396, +4 131

he gets fed right at his shot time AM and PM, then an hour after usually, essentially every time I test he gets a teaspoon or so of food. today I didn't get any tests earlier because I was so tired I went back to bed and hubby let me sleep in till 9:30. I usually feed the dives, hasn't really helped at all thus far. he's looking great though, very pleased with himself so I"m looking at the WCR most of the time to stop myself getting depressed about the bouncing.

Yeah for green. Go Rupie! I hear you on the drops. Neko did a 130 pt an hour drop last night (in spite of being fed) with the expected result this morning. They do like to keep us on our toes don't they!

Re: 7/1 Rupert AMPS 396, +4 131 +6 93

I think front loading the curve with food will help. I would spread Rupert's meal over 3 installments (PS, +1 and +2) or even 4 installments (PS, +1, +2 and +3). The idea here is that by spreading the food out, you may soften some of the big drops. Give a different feeding schedule a couple of weeks trial to see if it helps. I would also suggest that you consider using food, even higher carb food, to try to prevent Rupert from diving quite so steeply or even to prevent taking a dose reduction. Right now, the flatter you can get the cycle, the better.

FWIW, Gabby was the queen of the dive and bounce. At Jill's suggestion, I spread out Gabby's meals and would add higher carb food when her numbers started to drop or were in danger of getting a reduction as a means of trying to flatten out her numbers. The overall goal was to see blues at pre-shot times and greens in-between. I think for now, if Rupert could get more consistently in blues and yellows and minimize the swings, that would be a reasonable goal.

nice blue PMPS. Fed him Turducken and Friskies mixed, so slightly higher carb, hoping to keep him surfing in the blues and avoid what might be the start of another bounce.. if we could just get him to level off by +2 that would be great. fingers crossed. he's had a great day sitting out on the deck, weather turned decent so he watched us working in the barn and playing with horsies all day.

hanging on to the edge of blue for +2, and only a 25pt per hour rise... so hopefully not a skyrocket bounce planned for later.

Re: 7/1 Rupert PMPS 133 +2 185 +3.5 201

+3.5 and just snuck into the yellow, but not a rocketing fast rise...hopefully he'll not go too high on his trampoline tonight. at least I can go to bed at a normal time methinks! thanx for everyone's visit today. Holiday for us again tomorrow, wheeee!
