Oh HALLALUJAH! I'm getting KT TO EAT! He ate over 3 Proplan chicken cans yesterday and already have a bit under 2 cans this morning. I was about to start syringe feeding yesterday, got out baby blender (knock off Baby Bullet) and made soupy food mix. I got KT, we went back to their table, set him down - he smelled it and starting licking! He finished everything but the tiny bit covering the bottom. A couple of hours later, did it again - almost finished that one. I offered him pate without the mush this morning but he walked away - I put the same food in the blender making liquid mush out of it, he dug in. That nasty AMPS number is because all I had last night that I could get in him was HC with gravy.... :roll: I have LC this morning.

Dakota isn't having ANY problem eating... He's feeling well but tried his best to get both of us up at 6am to feed him - didn't work, we ignored him. We're actually seeing BLUE numbers during the cycles FINALLY! He's now feeling like he belongs here, no more 'I'm just visiting' actions. He's such a love and such a blessing.

Leo - already made a mad emergency vet run this morning with him gasping for breath again. It started suddenly yesterday evening, he was really bad by this morning....he got another steriod shot... :cry: but that's the only thing that saved him last time. We may end up with him becoming diabetic but if it does, so be it...we know how to do that!

Thoughts and prayers today for those 19 people killed in the AZ fire.

Afternoon to ya, Good boy Dakota,vet run oh no Lucky use to get the cortisone shots but got blockages then had to have all his teeth out. I give him the Lysine now it helps but going to check out allerplex as marje said she uses on her babies. My Foxy gets Herpes virus all the time so Lysine is her drug choice lol well hope you ca get some rest.(((hugs))) Linda

Hooray for eating!!!! There is nothing more worrisome to beans than poor appy. Thank goodness Dakota is a good eater. :razz:

We've only seen this once since he arrived!

Linda, Anne/Liz sent me some Allerplex - it seemed to do Leo well until he started refusing to take it just because he's a little red-headed dork kitty. I've yet to find some way besides stuffing it down his throat but haven't given up, I just don't get a dose in him very often.

Hi Lyresa,

I don't know Allerplex but I believe somebody on the forum said it was homeopathic? If that's true, you could talk to a homeopath about putting it in the drinking water. I did that for Angie when she had a tail injury. I was amazed at how fast it healed - it was like she had been given steroids. I used to see a homeopathic vet and she told me how to put it in the water. She said it wouldn't matter if Jetzin got some too because if it's not the right medication for the cat it won't have any effect.

Hi Lyresa,
Rusty loves his Allerplex (we call it his "lung treat". ) I put a teaspoon of stage 1 Beechnut turkey baby food in a little dish, open the Allerplex capsule and add it to the baby food. Then I add a teaspoon of warm water and mix it all together into a slurry. I finger feed it as a treat. This way I know that he eats it all. He really loves it!
