Happy Tuesday and Happy Canada Day to our dear friends to the North. We hope they all enjoy their holiday!! We continue to send healing vines to Rocky, Sasha, Zeke, Lucy, Zener, Trix, Tricia, and Elise's Mom. Go go go on the OTJ trials for Oliver, Peyton, and Zack.

Missy G has been sweet, affectionate, playful, and all wonderful things Gracie. Uh....except when she got her pedicure. She has been getting her claws clipped every two weeks since she was tiny. Some days, it's no big deal. Some days, I get the major league stinkeye. And then...there are days like today where she was not happy at being interrupted from her other Gracie chores. She slapped the claw clippers so hard they went flying out of my hand    She was very careful....she did not slap at me and she did not have her claws out. But she really put a whackin' on those clippers. So I just waited a few minutes and brushed her teefies and then she allowed me to finish the pedicure with no further upsets. Obviously, the order of her grooming was not to her liking today. ;-)

She is holding the 0.25u dose but she is also, once again, diving and bouncing. Ick. So we are trying to decide whether we want to be super patient and just try to do better at catching the dives and flattening them (I had success doing this on the 0.5u dose), whether we just want to be patient and let it be, or whether we want to just add a tiny bit of fat try and smooth out the bounces. For Gracie, sometimes a little extra juice stops the bouncing even if she goes lower. We decided to take the convertible sports car up to the mountains today, have lunch and pie, and think about it all

The first Tuesday of every month is when the landscapers come. They are very industrious in the courtyard with their rakes, blowers, etc. The Dynamic Duo felt it necessary to supervise today. Not a great photo but Tobes is on the left in the photo and LBG is on the right. Somebody has to keep an eye on those guys

Have a fab day!!

Oh, Gracie, what are you doing up there? Is that why your beans went to the mountains, to drag you back down? I'm sure a ride in the sports car on that winding road was good for perspective. With a fighter pilot, no less.

Hi Marje!
Wow, I love how Gracie slapped the clippers out of your hand but was so careful not to hit her momma.

Lucy used to be like that.
She would start her blow ready to whack Ginger, then I'd quickly insert my hand in between them and Lucy's paw would freeze midair.
Now she just go for it.
Got too used to "accidentally" scratching/biting my hand through many vet visits, and she now thinks it's no big deal. :-x

Good luck working on the dose plan up in the mountain over pie.
I think that's a super way to figure out a plan.

We are once again diving too!!! I hope Ms. G clears the bounce today but please DON'T copy Mr. Max.

I have now tested the relion vs arkray several times and I am convinced it makes no difference which you use. So I think you can buy whichever are cheaper.

Re: 7/1 Gracie AMPS 248 +2 285

Yoohoo LBG. Whatya doing up there? Decisions, decisions on dose. Nice to see her get to the 40's on this dose, even if it is overnight.

We had toe nail trimming day yesterday, like you, sometimes good, sometimes just can't sit through all 4 paws.

So who drives the sport car? ;-) We sometimes do a pie run here too. DH has a share in a Cessna and there's a small airport up the valley with a cafe known for having 20 types of fresh pie every day. Yumm - now you've got me thinking pie.

 on the clippers. Good luck with whatever you decide on the dose. I hope Gracie comes back down soon.

Re: 7/1 Gracie AMPS 248 +2 285

Gracie had a great night last night! I don't like pedicures, either, so I can relate  Mt Lemmon is so pretty! DH is going camping up near Sedona with some Jeepers this weekend. Wish I could go cool off, but I get to stay home and snuggle with cat. Just keep hoping for that rain...

Wow, Princess Gracie can have quite a temper when she wants to! I'm glad she decided that it was OK to have her nails clipped.

I hope it was a good day of supervising the grounds keepers. And I hope the pie run was successful. What kind of pies?

Have a great evening, guys,

Ella & Rusty

Gracie had an active night last night- I love your description of her pedicure! And I love your decision making process in the sports car driving up to get pie!

Thank you Liz, Mariko, Elise, Wendy, Carla, Tara, Ella, and Ruth for visiting today!

Someone, who shall remain nameless but you all know her as LBG, got a small dose increase tonight. Executive decisions were made over pie. It is possible that the overcarbing of the beans could result in a skewed decision but we shall see.

Well we decided to definitely go up on the mountain where it was 83 degrees and have lunch and pie. The original Mount Lemmon Cafe was known all over AZ for its fabulous pies.....mostly fruit in nature but also lemon meringue, chocolate silk. Oh my. However, when most of Summerhaven (the village that is on Mount Lemmon) burned in about 2003, the owner of the cafe, Pam, became ill after and passed away. The cafe, which barely escaped being burnt, was sold and the new owners tore it down and built the Sawmill Grill which is a really nice place. They have the pies as the new owners were friends of the original owner. They are still yummy but not quite like Pam's. So we had a lovely lunch on the patio, cool mountain breeze, pie, and then walked through town and drove back home. We managed to do most of the trip with the top down but had to have it up while in Tucson. And, of course, Mike was the driver.....he does not like to ride with me. And the fighter pilot in him loves screaming around those mountain curves

For the record, we shared fresh peach cobbler....hot...with two scoops of premium vanilla bean ice cream. Decadence.
