Woke up with the extremely rare sight of Cleo right next to my head this morning :o Last week, I would have thought she was very low, but since her food change, I knew she was just hungry!! She cuddled :!: for a minute with me, then the big dopey droolers jumped up and forced us up.

Today she was served Wellness Turkey - at first she ate with gusto, and I got my hopes up - but second time up, she just looked at it, then at me. She did eat some more, so I will add it to my very short list of "liked" foods.
I am hoping DH wakes up early, and I can entice him out to breakfast, then pet stores in my search for different foods (I have alot printed out and highlighted), then back home for a relaxing day by the pool.

It sounds nice, let's see if all goes as planned!

That sounds like a good morning for you and Cleo. I hope you get a chance to relax by the pool.

Fed her a tiny bit of HC with her Cowboy food. She is currently getting one drop of insulin. Should I try to reduce to a 1/2 drop?

I have ALOT of canned food to return, FF & Friskies, and I kept alot for my civvies. Petsmart said they will give me a store credit, and then I will shop for my LC/Low Phos foods.

My heart is aching for Kathie.

It looks like your breakfast plans are going to be delayed. Cleo has other ideas.

Please give Cleo some HC and retest to get those numbers up.

Fed her 1 tsp HC - plus 1/2 tsp LC. Cleo don't know what the heck happened, but she hopes it happens again!! Keep bringing on the gravy food :-D :-D

Morning! Wonderful cycle today - love the green! Also love the head greeting - my Elsa does that. she has decided that sharing my pillow if the way to go Silly cat. Have a great day today.

Cleo is on 1 drop of insulin twice a day. Since she had the 39 this am, should I cut it back to a small drop this PM?

I have a better idea. How about seeing if she can manage without any insulin?

Here are the instructions for an OTJ trial:
  • Test at your normal AMPS and PMPS times. Feed multiple small meals throughout the day as much as possible (small meals are less likely to overwhelm a newly functioning pancreas).
  • If your cat is green at your normal test times, no need to test further until the next "PS" time, just feed small meals and go about your day. If he is blue, feed a small meal and test again after about 3 hours. If his number is lower 3-4 hours after a meal, then his pancreas is working!
  • After 2 weeks, if everything is looking good, we have a party!

Sometimes the trial doesn't work the first time and we have to give a little more support in the form of resuming insulin. It's not the end of the world if that happens, we just give him the support he needs. Our goal is a strong remission and it's better to take our time to get that than to rush into remission just to have it fail later on.

OMG!!! So, if she is in the greens at PM test, I will not give her any insulin. Why is my stomach going in knots over NO insulin :shock:

Well, here we go, in line to get on a different ride!!

If it makes you feel any better, you can always wave a syringe over her head. :lol: Good luck on the trial!!!

Cleo and I thank you all for the well wishes - I am excited and scared, and just not sure what to do with myself! Guess I can go to bed! Night LL!

Hoping Kathie is able to get some peaceful rest.
