Hey everybody!! Iz learned a new trick last night....if ay don't want more pokies just fall asleep on da beans alarm clock and day wont hears it! He he he -- it worked for me! Just make sure you getz off before the fuds alarm goes off, almost missed dat! ~Skooter

Yes, Skooter is very proud of himself for finding away to take advantage to a momma bean who was not feeling well and making me not hear my alarm. I say it sucks he took advantage of my one-earedness that way, but he found his angle and took it.

I will say the extra sleep was nice, but I kind of wanted to see what he was doing last night....I was pleasantly surprised at his number this morning and I think it has something to do with figuring out how to do this stupid 0.10 dose. I still try it a few times with each test, but I figure it is just a drop and I don't really consider it wasting as it is helping me figure it out....

Let's hope he is settling into his dose now! I am hoping he does well with it.....time will tell!

Nice start for Skooter. :D I hope he settles into this dose for you. How funny on him sleeping on your alarm clock.

He slept ON the alarm clock? Clever, albeit perhaps uncomfortable, kitty!

Yup, Molly. Getting the hang of it...indeed.

Very smart, Skooter! Love the numbers, keep it going. Yes, I think you can waste a few drops getting the dose right. :) Vines for you, Molly, hope you're feeling better tonight.

So I got a really nice voicemail from the Office Manager at Skooter's vet clinic. She said she was disappointed that they weren't able to order Skooter's medication and apologized ---WHICH IS ALL I WANTED....Someone to take ownership of it. She said that she called UPS and confirmed his new medication would arrive no later than 6 pm tonight (it was on my steps when I got home) and she checked with his normal vet if he would be ok missing a dose. Which is nice, but they aren't here with Skooter day to day and they don't realize that he starts getting ill even after like one missed dose, but it was kind of her. I was able to get I think almost a full dose this morning....I flipped the bottle upside down and let it sit for a few seconds then used what was left, so yay!

She offered to reimburse me for the medication, which is not necessary as I would have paid for the medication either way. But she did say the discussed it and they will be handling compound drugs differently. They will have each client set up an account with the compound pharmacy and then we can order the medication ourselves and pay them directly. I think she said if there was not a prescription there, then the pharmacy would contact the clinic. So something good came out of it.

I unfortunately won't be able to call her back until Thursday (thanks work), but it just felt nice that someone took ownership of it. I have his new bottle in the fridge and I will note on the comments section that the medication is from a new pharmacy, in case it does anything to his numbers, which by the way, are AWESOME!!!!

Awesome, indeed! You must be getting that dose right. He's so consistent, too. Nice work, Molly.

I agree, getting someone to acknowledge the problem and accept responsibility goes a long way. Sounds like they did more than that, which is great and bodes well for your future relationship with them. I especially like that they learned something from the experience and made a positive change.

Hope you are feeling better, Molly. Sending vines for you.

Fantastic surf going on there Skooter - keep on keeping on! :D

I am glad you got some satisfaction over the compounding medicine fiasco. My vet just writes a script for me and I deal with the compounding pharmacist directly. The less middle men, the better.

And the problem of "just taking a nap until the +2 test"....once I wake up from that one, I am exhausted and go back to bed until the next one and then it is close to 1 am and I can't sleep :( I must figure out a way to end this cycle! Just difficult because when I am up like this, by the time I get off from work I am super tired....so later today when I get off work, I am going to do whatever I have to in order to stay up until a normal bedtime, Skooter willing of course....

On the flip flop, Skooter is having an AMAZING cycle!!!! I am glad I listened when everyone said to give it just a little more time, he seems to be settled into this dose very well!
