I shot Wonton at 80 with her regular dose of .5u Would ,25u have been better?
I know to check her before I leave the house at +1 and will come home at lunch time to check her. Her numbers have been wonderfu land I'm getting more brave with shooting lower numbers.

I just re-read the Handling low numbers sticky...I think I'm OK, just need to check her as often as I can which will be at +1, +6, +11, +12

Have to run out the door...gave her some HC and two small LC snacks in her timed feeder. Will be back to check her at noon.

Great start for Wonton! You should be ok if you leave her out some fuds. Surf it in the those pretty safe greens for mama bean Wonton!

Wonton is doing SO beautifully. I just had a gut feeling about her from day one, and my gut is rarely wrong! Great job shooting, and leaving the fuds out! Shooting that .5 was perfect...way to go!!!

Pretty greens all day today! Yay!! Keeping her at .5u Just wondering, what is the goal to hopefully get her OTJ? Is there a guideline to follow?

Unfortunately, I don't have OTJ experience, so I only kinda sorta know the rules for heading into a trial. I'm bumping you, though, and hopefully someone who can really spell it out for you will reply.

She's going alittle lower but will keep a close eye on her. I hope this won't turn into an all nighter.
I tried loading a picture but I think the file was too large and it wouldn't accept it. It may have been taken from my camera phone so I'll try with my digital camera.

She has to keep earning reductions by going under 50 or staying in numbers under 100 for a full week and then you decrease by .25u. The next dose after .25u is .1u; we try to keep them on insulin as long as safely possible to help the pancreas heal and to increase the chances of them staying in remission.

Once we think Wonton is ready for an OTJ trial, we send you the instructions. The trial is two weeks. She still has a little ways to go. Paws crossed :-D .
 
That +4 is down a little bit, but really it's a nice flat Lantus curve, as opposed to a big dive. Awesome day for Wonton!!
