Don't know what to say about Lanky this AM. Guess he continues to do his own thing. I am off to pick-up Dad's birthday present (the big day is Sunday) later this morning. It is a "Worm Factory"! Boy will he be surprised. Since Pops likes to fish & I like to garden, we are (I am) going to try to cultivate worms, red wigglers & night crawlers. The worm castings apparently make great garden additives & whenever you want to fish, just pick out a few choice treats to take along. The setup comes with a "how-to" DVD and with some shredded newspaper, kitchen scraps, & a little time--walla, more worms & worm castings. Stay tuned for a further report.

PS this gift makes up for the paint-sprayer that I got last year on MY birthday  , no?

Re: 6/8 Lanky AMPS 400

You will be a bona fide worm farmer! We have "grown" worms before and it is a lot of fun! Hope you have a great day!

Re: 6/8 Lanky AMPS 400

Hi guys .. lanky, what the heck are you doing? Come on down now .. a worm factory birthday gift .. now that is a new one! I hope you guys have a great day!

Re: 6/8 Lanky AMPS 400

Worms? Hahahaha!!! I love it! Definitely equal to or better than your paint sprayer.

Now Lanky... come on down, ok?

Re: 6/8 Lanky AMPS 400

Hi Susan & Lanky, Time to go down to blue, Lanky! You can do it!

We have friends who have a worm factory (red wigglers). They originally got it to get worms for their compost pile, but they never did make a compost pile, so they just have the worms. We've had to "feed" them on occasion. Make sure you put it somewhere where there is good ventilation. In enclosed spaces (like our friends' basement) they can produce a "miasma".

Happy Birthday to your dad! I'm sure he'll enjoy that gift!

Party at Camp Stu on Friday, Lanky. Don't forget!

Re: 6/8 Lanky AMPS 400

 a miasma? that sounds like a frightening thing to have happen in your house!

too funny on worms for a gift - you know it's all about the "right" thing for that person. one year i got my husband a tape measure for christmas - the metal kind that retract. my brother-in-law who is a contractor couldn't believe it. he said he had a dozen in his shop that he'd of given my husband. but my husband REALLY wanted one, so it was perfect for him. sounds like worms are perfect for your dad. does he live with you?

did you see sienne asked about the blood in lanky's urine in yesterday's condo? if he has an infection that could explain why he's a bit high . . . and i was wondering if you were going to check in with CSU about the labs. lots to manage with these boys!

Re: 6/8 Lanky AMPS 400

Come on down a bit, Lanky, ok? There's plenty of room for you. :)

I think the worm farm would be a good idea. :) Especially if the person's into that sort of thing. Why not? :)

Re: 6/8 Lanky AMPS 400

I should clarify. My husband & I don't have kids, just cats. The kitties refer to him as Dad or Pops. I call him Dad, Pops, Jimmy-joe-bob, Jim, & James depending on the occasion  . The birthday gift will be from the boyz (Lanky & Bruski), with a note that they have saved their allowance for months just to get this for him dancing_cat dancing_cat

Re: 6/8 Lanky AMPS 400

 i was thinking it was YOUR dad that was getting the worms and figuring he lived with you! good to get the clarification! my dad did live with us for almost 3 years, so my thoughts went there.

Re: 6/8 Lanky AMPS 400

How sweet that the kitties are buying their dad a present for his birthday! I love it. Sounds like the perfect gift for a guy that loves fishing!

GO KITTIES! They know what dad wants - well done boys. That is the most unusual gift - and a great one. Happy birthday to dad early.

It is nice to see that lanky decided he did not want to stay on the red floor. Good move lanky!
