I have a new song for Doc "....bouncin' like a red rubberrrr balllll...". I didn't get any overnight tests in the last 2 nights, I don't think a tornado would have awakened me... The bounces are breaking quicker but going higher - he's doing too big of a slide overnight. Even when I wake him to test and open a fresh can, he'll slowly eat as long as I stand there but I'm only half awake anyway, I grope my way back to bed quickly...and he quits. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to stop this? I'm tired of seeing pinks all day! I don't think an increase is the answer (??) - he'll just dive harder at night.

Opinions and suggestions welcome!

BIG HUGS to all that visit today! Thoughts and prayers for all needing them today - special ones for Mel helping her princess Cali cross.

I know how very hard it is to test at night for you. I understand. But when I had Gracie doing this to me recently (although not so dramatic), I had to test and slow that curve at night with food to flatten her out at a little higher number. Decreasing the dose won't help unless he's earning reductions. The other goal is finding out how low is he going? I suspect it's not low and that what is causing these big bounces are big dives....even from 300s to mid blue.

If he's not nadiring in green, increasing can help but I would not be for an increase without knowing where he has been at night.

It's tough when they flip flop cycles but I found with Gracie that if I could do one night and flatten her out, then her lower cycle was the next day and she went back to bouncing a little at night. ECID but it might be worth a try.

I don't have personal experience with Lev, but i'd trust marje's advice any day. :-D

But about him eating a night, would opening the favorite food at night help? or putting an enticement on the night time food - say parmesan cheese or fortiflora?
