Vet appt.
Weight=11#, ear infection, low potassium level, some tooth issues but given his age (17 yrs), no dental will be done. Overall, vet thought he was in great shape. Continue mirtazapine as needed. Vet has a diabetic and was impressed how often I'm checking his levels.

Sorry about the ear infection. Did the vet give you anything for it? Most ear meds contain a steroid. You can get hydrocortisone free Zymox from 1800petmeds. I've used it for Furball before. Glad he is doing well otherwise. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Yes - she gave me tresaderm 2x/day for 8 days. It does contain a steroid...I'll see how it affects his BG and if it goes up I'll discontinue and call the vet. I just checked with the vet's office and she said she doesn't think it should affect his BG...

Well - he did spike up tonight PMPS. Also gave him another 1/4 tab mirtazapine to boost his appetite. He finished most of his dinner by 11 pm and then snuck in some of the other cats dry food because I screwed up. How high will he be tomorrow?
