We're feeling especially punchy this morning! Looking very bright eyed.

She puked up a hairball sometime in the night, which tells me shes feeling well enough to groom in ernest! Her coat IS looking a little bit downier.

(Mildly TMI?) She followed me into the bathroom this morning, and while I was sat on the throne, she stood up on her hind legs with her paws on my knee to lean up and give me kisses, which she hasn't done in a while, even long before the diabetes diagnosis.

Shes looking out the window and chittering at the hummingbirds right now.
 
Also, should be noted, I dont know if she got her full dose yesterday evening.

After I gave her her shot and withdrew the needle from her, I tapped on the plunger and it looked like a bead of insulin was still 'stuck' in it, which doesn't normally happen (I always check). I think I released the plunger while it was still in her, and it 'sucked' the insulin I had just administered back into the needle.

I reinserted the needle and pushed the plunger back in and kept it pushed in as I removed the needle, so I hope she got the full drop.

[And in case there's any misunderstanding, I didnt redraw from the Levemir pen, I just made sure she got all of what I had originally drew.]

Wondering if that's what effecting these 'high' AM numbers.
 
Glad to hear she is getting back to her old self. They feel so crummy at the start of their diabetes journey that it's a thrill to see them revert to pre-diabetes behaviour and a state of wellbeing. :-)

Btw, her numbers don't look like it was a furshot last night. She does have a pretty early onset and nadir for Levemir!

Remind me why you are giving her clavamox?

She had a UTI when she was first diagnosed with the 'beetus, had a round of Clavamox, but the vet recently retested and determined she still had the UTI and decided to issue another round.

Early onset/nadir is nice for me because I dont have to stay up too late at night monitoring, but... I wish it were further out/offered longer coverage. I got excited yesterday thinking that the greens were gonna start stretching into +5, but maybe not just yet. Sigh.
 
Those blue numbers can be real stubborn! :mad: I battled them with Ruby for 6 months and then started to be more sporadic. Had the hardest time getting rid of them at AMPS. They are always the last numbers to come down. Right now Olivia is doing fine but she might need to be on insulin a little longer for those blues to turn green. :D Here's a pair of patience pants for you. You're welcome. :p
