Good Morning, Everyone,

It's a cold (45 degrees), rainy Monday morning. Rusty is snuggled in his little bed by the radiator (yes, we have the heat on!). He had a good night, ate all his nighttime food (probably pretty close to AMPS), had a good test, shot, and breakfast ("triple" turkey: Wellness, BG, FF T&G, of which he ate all of the T&G and a good deal of the rest so far). He seems to be walking without limp. He ran down the stairs fast this morning. Tomorrow in the late morning we have our appt. with the vet.

Today is definitely not a paddling day. No one has scheduled a "Monday Paddle". I will continue to catch up with paperwork and this afternoon will make the trip to Plattsburgh to the PetSmart. I want to see if they have a different batch no. of Wellness turkey. The batch that I have is dated 19 Jan. 2015 and Rusty does not like the mushy texture. Unfortunately, I have another whole case of this batch (my local store orders it for me). I will return it if it appears to be an atypical batch.

Wishing you all a good day today. Sending healing vines to all kitties and beans not feeling well. Sending thoughts of comfort to help heal the hearts of those whose kitties have Gone Ahead.

Hi Kitties! Mannie will pick you up in the bus for the trip to the Full Strawberry Moon Party at Camp Stu tonight. Tobey is coming early to help me bake cimmamum/strawberry cookies. Moonie is tuning up the pipes for some Strawberry Moon singing. Chef Mannie has a great menu in store. Sous chef Tess is baking catnip crisps with strawberry topping. We'll be singin', dancin', fishin', swimmin' (if it's not too cold), paddlin', and, of course, eatin' and drinkin'. Our GAs will be partying, too, on the other side of the veil. We'll all have a great time, even if we can't see the moon because of the weather. See you all tonight!

Good morning Ella! It's so cold in NY! Where is your Spring & early Summer? Should be early Summer, right?
Lovely PS for Rusty! The Wellness turkey, is that the Wellness Core? My recent purchase on that is kinda "less solid" but Ive a porky Rosy who can finish up anything. :lol:

Morning Ella, interesting with the Wellness Turkey, as I am going to check at PetPeople on a batch that Maggie won't eat, same problem as Rusty, too mushy! What is the Lot# on the box? Glad Rusty's leg is better. The FF T&G is not hurting Rusty's numbers at all, so good for Rusty as I know he and Mags love it.
On my condo, no I don't have a Chiropractor, but I do have a good Acupuncturist not too far from her (and near a donut shop :-D ) which I will try some more treatments. Yes, agree on the walking and helping. Have a nice day.

ETA: I always get a good batch when I order online from www.Wag.com and free shipping with a $49.00 order. Consistency is more solid/chunky. Shipment arrives in 2-3 days, too!

Morning Ella - I have noticed that too on the wellness turkey, as Mannie eats that as one item in his rotation of fuds. Fortunately for me he does not care and will eat them all. ;-) Some cans a very solid, others are not. I wonder if it has anything to do with which plant processed them. Dunno.... You will have to report on what you find - if you find another batch. Good luck.

Bummer too on the weather - we are looking at the same ting here: 45, raining, and will probably remain that way all day. oh goodie.... paperwork etc here for me too.

I haven't bought Wellness since they had the recall (no taurine in the cat food) :YMSIGH: And now with you guys all talking about the varied consistencies.....well, that is very troubling in my opinion....

Rusty, glad to hear your leg isn't bothering you like before. It sounds like you really know how to host a party over there. We'll do a little weather dance for you, hopefully it'll warm up slightly and clear out for a gorgeous view of the moon!

Nice start to the day for Rusty!

I had to stop buying Wellness products. First I had a bad case that stank. Then I had multiple cans of different consistency and color and smell that Racci wouldn't eat! I noticed this both in regular wellness canned and in Core so just gave up on the brand after throwing out I don't know how much money worth. Luckily, Wellness reimbursed me for two cases and petco for about 1 case but I got stuck on all the open cans I threw away. Now I only buy 3 oz can and only BG from Merrick since that's all she's willing to eat but I found inconsistencies in the 5.5 oz cans from them too! The wellness 3oz cans may be ok. I was just so disgusted and didn't knwo if Racci would give it a chance again after all that. If Rusty isn't as fussy it might be worth a try for you.

bummer on the Wellness. We've been using the large 12.5oz cans and this seems tohave a coarser texture. I remember it seemed softer when we first started using it and Tess didn't like it then.

What a nice day for Rusty!! I'm glad he's not limping anymore....the power of TLC!!!

Rusty...we're on the way! We made strawberry mojitos and Tobey can't wait to show everyone the cookies your bean and he made!!!

Sorry to hear about the syringes. I've given up and am just using my calipers to get the most accurate dose. I have noticed with using them that the syringes are so far off sometimes that I wonder if that doesn't contribute
to some of the up and down numbers we see.

Hi again,
I'm back from Plattsburgh, having bought some Wellness Turkey in the 3-oz cans (batch # 7WTKC1, 2304; best by 20 Nov. 14). The texture is like it used to be and Rusty ate all that I gave him this evening. The 5.5 oz. cans I have been feeding Rusty are batch #7WTKS4, 05:09; best by 19 Jan. 15: these are the cans with mushy texture.
Rusty used to eat Wellness Turkey almost exclusively and liked it a lot. Now, with the 5.5 oz. mushy cans, he eats it, but not with much enthusiasm. I also feed him the 3 oz. cans of BG Turkey (which he will eat, but usually does not much care for) and By Nature Turkey and Turkey Liver (which he really likes sometimes). And then of course there is Fancy Feast T & G, which he always eats with great enthusiasm. I wish it was a little lower in carbs! (I think it's 7%). I have begun adding some FF T&G to his dish for every meal.

The rain is still coming down, so I don't think the kitties will see the full moon tonight, but they will have a great party anyway.

Anyone old enough to know the song "No Moon at All"?? That's what we have tonight. It's up there, but hidden in the clouds and rain. I know that the kitties are having a great time at their party. Don't expect your furkids home any time soon!!

Rusty had a really good day today: lots of energy, good appetite, good numbers. I can hear him downstairs, playing with his toys at bedtime. He hasn't played since we got home from camp.

Well done, Rusty! I'm glad your leg is better. Isn't that the cutest when you can hear them playing with their toys by themselves? Tillie does that a lot, Zener not so much.
