We are heading into the big heat wave. NOT GOOD!! Rusty is taking it seriously and is "resting". His appetite is so-so, and breathing so-so. Beans are about to head out to the farmers' market before it gets too hot. We are having a houseguest over the 4th of July (she arrives on Monday), so we will clean today before it gets any hotter.
Wishing all a good weekend and Happy Canada Day Weekend to all our friends to the North.
Yup we are in the big heat wave; started yesterday! I was outside feeding the birds at 7:30 am and it is already nasty out!
Hope you have a good weekend Ella and I hope Rusty finds a spot to stay cool!
I was up at 4 something this morning, before the sun came up, and opened the windows for a bit. For the rest of the day and maybe for days, it will be windows closed, drapes drawn, and stay inside with the air conditioning.
I too am sending breath better vines and eat better vines to Rusty. Give him some skritches from us
lol. We don't have a/c here. It almost never gets hot enough. But we have 5 fans and a ceiling fan and good cross-ventilation. During the day we pull down the winter window quilts to keep out the heat.
Today I began a 2000-piece jigsaw puzzle. When our houseguest is here it will probably be too hot to do much outdoors, so we can amuse ourselves with "Neuschwanstein" (the extravagant castle Ludwig II of Bavaria built for himself in the 19th century in tribute to Richard Wagner). 2000 pieces are sure a lot of pieces!
Rusty ate pretty well today, at least he finished most of his meals. Breathing is not great and this hot weather doesn't help. He did go outside several times this morning, before the heat built up. He is quite frail these days, but he is trying.
This evening we took the fat off Rusty's dose and went back down to 0.25U (0.20mm on the digital calipers, Monoject syringe). I think the steroid has worn off and therefore that it's time to go back down in dose (yesterday he had a 40, and the day before a 33).
