I'm ordering a timed feeder today. That will put my mind at ease if I have to be away for a bit. He seems to go up when he has been a while without food. With Peyton he does better with small meals throughout the day.

Sending vines and prayers for those in need...

Half way there and doing great. I will be interested to see if Peyton freaks out with the feeder. Max was afraid of my plasma tv when I got it for several weeks and it didn't matter if it was on or off!! That has been the only thing stopping me from getting a timed feeder.

I think once he realizes it contains food, Peyton will grow to like the feeder very much (Max, too!). You might put his favorite food in it the first time, to start it off right. I put some in the open slot and set it in the most convenient place for CInco the first time, then I set him right in front of it, so he'd know that it contained food. It didn't take him long to associate the sound of it turning with food becoming available, and he'd wake from a sound sleep and go trotting over to it!

Cinco does better with several small meals a day, too.

Congrats on your success so far with the trial, and sending good vines for continued good BGs!

yay for another good day! i think you'll like having a timed feeder. it just gave me a measure of security.

the noise is pretty impressive at first, but hopefully Peyton will get used to it and realize it means FUD!

don't forget to keep the countdown in your subject line - it encourages everyone, especially new people, to realize that OTJ is possible for many cats. it's so exciting!

One week down, one to go!!

Looking good Peyton! Just had to throw that blue out there to keep your mamabean on her toes, huh?

Of course with that +2, it's pretty obvious his pancreas is kicking in when he's fed, so I agree that the auto-feeder may help even him out some.

Good luck with getting him used to the noise...once he figures out there's food involved, hopefully he'll get over it quickly and get on with the eating!

whoop whoop, Peyton!!! Keep on Keepin' on!!!

Love the timed feeder for when I can't be at home....however, it does me no good in the evening. Spot decides he wants to eat before they open and he will meow and meow and meow and meow until I get up and open it.....

I used the timed feeder as Neko's dish for a while so she associated food with it. The first couple of times it went off she freaked out and ran away. But after that she realized it meant food. Now you don't want to get between her and the feeder when it goes off or you'll be bowled over.

Peyton is not startled easily so hopefully he will like it. I'm about to drive home from my sisters, feed him and then go back. Wish I had the feeder tonight! The only problem I can see with it is have a multicat household. I will have to make surepeyton is the only one in the room when we use it.

Happy Hump Day! Tess does fine w/ the feeder noise, the water fountain, however, is a different matter! bcatrun_gif
