High and flat again today! Noodle, you may not have heard yesterday, but there's a dosecrease threat on the table and you don't look very good in these high yellows and pinks. I picked up a smorgasbord of LC foods today for future experimentation. I'd ultimately like to get some variety in her diet as well as some lower phos options, so we will see. I think I'll hold off on that experiment until after she recovers from the dental. She also may have a new green fish nanner in the bag... spoiled girl

This bean ran for the first time in WEEKS this morning. It was 70+ degrees, 85% humidity, and sunny at 6am... so it did not go well, hah. At least Noodle enjoyed licking my sweaty arms when I got in. o_O

Hope everyone is having a lovely day so far, I'll be racing out after PMPS to meet friends for the World Cup game. Go USA!

Noodle, none of your fan club is impressed with these numbers, so listen up to Mama -- dosecrease is coming!
Lucky you, a new green fish nanner :cat: You sure do have a hard life, lol.
Seeing as Canada is out :(, I`ll be cheering for the US team as well! Have a great day, Tricia.

Much better start Noodle! Let see what you can do with a full depot.

Neko has mostly had alflaxalone for induction, as that's what they use in Canada. The benefit to it, is that it doesn't have BG lowering effects that some of the other drugs do. Easier on the bean the night after. Especially if they have extractions, feel icky and don't want to eat. Neko once had another drug when she was in Colorado State University Veterinary School for SRT (her only experience with anesthesia in the US), and I personally think she recovered faster with alflaxalone.

I've got the game on now, thanks for the tip! I feel for you on the running. I was rowing last night in the mid 80's, more humidity than we were used to and mosquitoes! Ugh.

Congrats to your team Patricia. Looks like we'll have an American invasion in town on Sunday for the final. A friend went to the US game against Ghana and he was amazed how many people drove up from long distances for the game.

Patricia

I don't know if there is any scientific documentation that Aflaxalone doesn't drop BG as propofol does or if it has just been the observation by our anesthesiologist and others like Wendy's vet. But since it was recently approved for use in the U.S., our anesthesiologist said Gracie's induction and time under anesthesia was the smoothest she had ever had. She has used Alflaxalone in Europe and Canada.

@Lori & Lulu @Wendy&Neko Very exciting game! The U.S. women have a very dedicated fan base here. Most women my age who remember watching the 1999 World Cup as soccer playing kids have more than a soft spot for the team. Watching them play even now is so exciting and nostalgic. I'm a huge sports fan, but there's something extra special about watching a sport I played for so long with people who "look like me" playing, not a bunch of 6'5" guys.

@Marje and Gracie Thanks for the insight. They use both at the practice, so I will see what the vet doing the procedure is most comfortable with. I've found some pieces that indicated alfaxalone may be better for cats with cardiac issues, but it didn't seem definitive. As nervous as I am, I'm so looking forward to having the procedure over with, I think it will help her a lot.
