He went to vet yesterday, got vaccines and an antibiotic shot prior to dental in 2 weeks. Would this play a role in this afternoons numbers? Blech. He had gained almost a lb. (good) eye pressure in both eyes was 17, normal (yay) best pressure since diagnosed in Jan. 2010 with Glaucoma. I have scheduled a dental for him on July 14, vet thinks there won't be any teeth that need pulling. He will have a full CBC panel, liver, kidney functions tests (just had liver/kidney function tests a few months ago), EKG, the works. Scares me, no insulin that morning and anesthesia but I know it needs to be done and might help his numbers. Didn't order a new vial of ProZinc yet, discussed the possible "poop-out" factor of ProZinc with vet, she is going to talk to BI rep about it. Think I will wait for new vial until after dental, think I ave enough until then. He seems to be feeling fine after vaccines and antibiotic yesterday. She also thinks his walking is better. When you see him everyday, sometimes its hard to gauge, but she hasn't seen him in a few months and could see an improvement. Going to hold off on starting acupuncture until after recovery from dental.
 
Hmmm... which vaccines did he get? If any of them are making him feel icky, that could contribute to higher numbers.
 
Convenia does not cause issues in many cats - but there have been a few on here that have had reactions from it - mostly lethargy and GI issues. There have been one or two with anemia issues. Read Dr. Lisa's page on the shot so you know what to look for just in case. Keep a good watch on him (like you always do!). http://catinfo.org/?link=convenia
 
Thank you Kelly. I will go read the link now. I will ask her not to give it to him again if any reaction and will keep a close eye on him.
 
When people say the word dental I cringe..but I am sure everything will be fine

Oh no he just now had some loose poop, I hope its not Convenia injection. Doesn't seem to feel bad otherwise, just ate, has eaten good all day. Had a normal stool this morning. Could vaccines also cause an upset tummy? Seems like he and my civvies may have had loose stool sometimes after having vacs the next day.
I am worried now.
 
Sometimes the rabies can cause system issues for some cats. If it is still occurring tomorrow, then we will re-evaluate. If the only thing that happens that is out of line is loose poo - then I think you guys will be just fine :-D
 
I think he had the Convenia before when his urine was cultured and he had a UTI. It seems like he might have had a little loose poo the next day then too. The second UTI he had was cultured and sent out to a lab to check for another strain of bacteria. He had a gram-negative bacteria causing the infection the last time and he took oral Cipro for 2 weeks for that. I can't remember but I think he might have had a little loose poo when he first started the Cipro too.
I will just watch and see how he does tonight and tomorrow. Doesn't have any of the other symptoms.
 
You can try adding a little Acidopholus powder to his food and see if that clears up the poopy problems. Usually works like a charm if it is from the A/Bs.

I like the drop yesterday even if the #s are a little high, at least it's a decent response. Poopy numbers today though. :evil: Hopefully it is just a little stress and he will be improved in a day or two.
 
I have some of the powder I can use.
So far no more diarrhea.
I'm hoping the flat numbers today are from either vaccines, a/b or vet stress.
