Good Morning Lantus Land and Happy Fantastic Friday to you all!

Guinness had a nice invitation to a party on the first floor last night and really had a nice time. The halls and rooms were all decorated in a lovely shade of blue and he stuck around chatting and socializing for a few hours before heading back up to the second and third floors. I'm hoping as he sleeps in the sun near the window today in his comfy cat bed he will dream of all things blue and convince his body to head back down there soon.

Have a great day all.

Hi guys .. so glad to hear guinness enjoyed himself on the lower floors last night .. I hope he makes it back down there today! Have a great weekend guys!

Re: 6/3 Guinness AMPS 312

Those blues are so nice to see on his spreadsheet, especially since he didn't need any help from R to get there!! :-D I hope this dose works well for Guinness!

Have a fantastic Friday yourself!!! And get some sleep...looks like you had a mini pokefest last night. :-D

No R and possibly a bounce. I won't be testing again until +9 or PMPS so we will see where he's at then.

It sounds like Guinness had a lovely time last night at the party! :-D I just looked over his SS and those blues are a very welcome sight i'm sure and all without the help of R. That is very cool. A bounce right now, quite possibly after those blues.. What a great attitude you have about this. I'm sure he enjoyed that floor so much last night that he will be back there in no time.
I hope you have a great day Linda!

Guinness saw BLUE without any help from R - that alone has to make you verra happy! Little bouncy today, but you know why - hope he makes it back to blues soon for you.....

Hey Linda!

Smokey was at the same party last night but he was up on the top floor inside the penthouse...Room # 505!!! The elevator was broke so we weren't able to get down with Guinness.

Maybe we will see each other soon!

When I got home from work tonight Guinness was acting funny. Moving slowly, licking his lips a lot, not meowing at me for food. He also seemed really tired (I could be projecting this part). I tested him and he was at 302, which isn't really high or low for him. He ate his treats and ate his dinner well. I gave him his 9u insulin. I noticed at some point during the day, he threw up (I found it after feeding him, but it was from earlier today).

Thoughts on what might have happened while I was away. Maybe shot up to a high number or way down to a low one? I can't imagine him getting all the way down to hypo territory today, but I'm wondering if it's possible?

I tested for ketones right after his meal and he was negative. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. He seems to be doing ok right now, just resting and moving slowly. I will keep an eye on his numbers tonight.

No, I wish that was it. There's something you have to know about Guinness, if I am in the room, he is following me, meowing at me for food. The minute I put my key in the door he's like a dog sitting on the other side of the closed door meowing. Today, no Guinness at the door, he finally climbed off the couch to greet me, but didn't meow. Then he went back to sleep. He was licking his lips a lot before his test and not meowing at me in protest before I poked his paw. Plus, the vomit. He rarely throws up. It wasn't his brother's because Harp gets locked in another room for most of the day so Guinness won't strong-paw him for his lunch.

I will say, that if his numbers are starting to respond, maybe he's just catching up on some much needed rest. He never sleeps unless I do. His civvie brother probably sleeps 10 more hours a day than Guinness does.

Just keep an eye on him, then. If he still seems "off," a visit to the vet may be in order especially if he's not eating like usual. He may not be used to the lower numbers from last night. For some cats, spending some time in lower ranges makes them feel weird.

isn't lip-licking a sign that they might be nauseous? could he have gotten into something and eaten it? got any ant killer stuff or other chemicals he could've snarfed around your place?

one of my earlier kitties got into rat poison at my folks' house when i had her there for a weekend visit, back when i was in college. by the time i figured it out it was too late to do anything, but she survived it.

put on your detective hat and see if guinness got into anything.
