Yoyo decided to take it easy today! Hope you do the same, Debra!
I actually took a 2 hour nap which I never do. I fell asleep on the couch with the tv being too loud, that's how tired I was!
I feel bad that he didn't have the greatest day regarding his BG but I did need the break. I wonder what tonight will bring:cool::D:D...Ti-Mousse looks real good:)

Very glad for you! You really needed that sleep! Night testing is very demanding! I always wondered looking at some SS, how people were doing to test that much at night; I kept asking myself "when do they sleep?" I always felt guilty not to do regular testing later than +4!
Don't feel bad about Yoyo's numbers! He was low yesterday and quiet today; greens will be back tomorrow!:D

Ti-Mousse is doing OK but he's still not friend with his new little toothbrush; it will come hopefully!

Give the toothbrush some time, I started brushing all my pets teeth when they were puppies and kittens and they weren't too happy with me. At times I thought- this will never work. But with time they learned to accept having that "thing" in their mouth.

Did you try using the rubber finger first? I always found that easier in the beginning and then I introduced the dreaded toothbrush. And make sure to give some kind of treat afterwards so he will start to look forward to having clean white teeth.

Debra, I'm so glad you have experience with tooth brushing!!:):) It's worst than shooting insulin, but I was told to do it after his dental!

I started (tried to start) with baby washcloth to just clean a little; he wouldn't even open his mouth!
I didn't try the rubber finger as he didn't want to open his mouth with the washcloth!!
I bought a tiny baby toothbrush; my plan was to put a little salmon juice from the can (he loves food, he's overweight:() and have him chew the toothbrush himself as a toy... to start!! and then, step2: start brushing!:)
Ti-Mousse doesn't like any treats except Temptations...or kibbles...., so no treats for him! I tried all the freeze dried including raw and some organic ones! (he finds them too healthy ) That was a big problem when I started to test him!:( He's having some boiled chicken or raw beef regularly so it's not a treat!

I thought it would take a couple of days but I think it will be longer! :)

Oh Yes....it takes time-more than a couple of days. Take him to a place that he is most comfortable and secure for him and you need to be comfortable too. Keep trying every day and it will eventually get easier. Remember, he has no idea why you are trying to get into his mouth-it is all new to him! Be careful not to get bit, it can happen by accident.

I think your idea with the salmon juice is a good idea, something tasty to chew on:):)
It can take weeks until he gets comfortable with you invading his mouth. Make it quick and fun each time.
The best time for me to do Yoyo's teeth is when he is comfy and tired. I pick him up, kiss him some more, cuddle him, talk to him and then I start. Even now some days are better than others. If he gets antsy, then I stop. There is always tomorrow.

I remeber the first weeks of giving insulin, I shook and would get sick to my stomach. But eventually somehow it all clicked. I still get a little nervous, the measuring in the syringe is the hardest part. I want the insulin to be exact each time, but I tell myself that I am doing the best I can for him. And that is all we can ever do for our fur babies:cat::cat:

This too will be behind you soon and Ti-Mousse will have the cleanest, pearl white teeth on this site:D

Glad Yoyo gave you a break and you got a nap in. Hopefully he’ll get back to business tomorrow.

To answer your question from yesterday....
I really have no secret. Scooter was high dose and did a good bit of bouncing for a long time and then one day we finally broke through something and he started getting reducies and having nice numbers. I do try to stay very consistent with his shot times and he gets small snacks through the first half of his cycles. I think this helps Scooter stay in good numbers, but I know others have done the same and their kitties are all over the place. I think I’m just lucky and Scooter is relatively easy!

I too try to be consistent with his shot time and I feed him exactly the same way each day. A big meal at PS and then small meals thru +4. I know Yo has come a long way and that his SS looks sooo much better but it's just his bouncing that drives me bonkers. I know ECID, but I hope one day his SS can look like Scooters.
I know that you and Scooter worked hard to get where he is and I am so happy for the both of you. I hope Scooter has continued success.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend:)

You're so nice! Thanks for my Ti-Mousse! :bighug::bighug: After all your good advices and all my practice, Ti-Mousse might have white teeth like him! :D

If you're nervous about exact measurement of insulin, did you ever tried calipers? I'm using them since a few months and I will never shoot without them anymore! It's so easy and you always get the same exact dosing without having to measure each time!

The bouncing is SOOO frustrating! You and Yoyo have done great and I’m sure one of these days he’ll stop bouncing and will give you nice flat cycles. He’s spending lots of time in good numbers and that’s very good for him. It’s so hard to be patient! You and Yoyo Have a good rest of the weekend too!
