Talbot's not feeling well today. He hasn't eaten yet that I have seen. This is the 5th day after his dental. I called the vet but his regular vets are not in today. The one I talked to said to give 100 of fluids and to discontinue the clav and bup and see what happens. I took his temp earlier and it was 100.4 which is fine.

He's quite listless and stares off into space. He will look at me though and I can get him to purr. He was fine after his dental until today. The bup I gave him last night and this AM may have been old but I'm not sure it would affect him as this is day five and he wouldn't have much pain. I may have used an older labeled bag for his bup when I was traveling with him or it may really be old. I think it will be okay to wait until tomorrow to see his regular vet. It would be a waste to drag him into night to see this vet. She recommended skipping his shot altogether if he's under 300 and his just 1/2 a dose if he's less. I can see the concern with him not eating but not skipping the dose.

I'm nervous about the poor guy. I also posted in health.

Try some baby food. Most kitties like the stuff and it's easy on his mouth. If you think he's still experiencing mouth pain, what about lowering the dose of bupe. It's also a narcotic and may make his stomach queasy -- morphine derivatives do that to humans.

On, no, poor Talbot. He's not stoned on the bup, is he? Dumb question, sorry, you've given this to him before. I hope he feels better soon.
