Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you all know that Rocky has stopped mouth breathing but his nose is very congested. He is now sneezing, a lot, but it is better than the open mouth breathing. He is also eating on his own again, right now. He finally started eating on his own late last night. I had to syringe feed him a couple of times when he was mouth breathing the day before that. I used the 33% carb food, 1/8 can of it one time, because I wasn't feeling well either and could not maintain constantly assist feeding him.
I finally put a little sea salt in the Vick's Vaporizer and that seemed to do the trick to get the steam rolling out of it. Rocky's room is now like a sauna, but he is loving it! Hehe!
In fact, I had the vaporizer set about 3 feet back, closer to the door, but it is effectively filling the room with warm steam. Rocky moved even CLOSER to the steam on his own last night and I think it is what cleared him enough to start eating again. Hopefully the Doxy has also kicked in and is starting to work. The vet told me that Doxy should also reduce swelling so maybe that's what is now happening for him.
He's still all bundled up in many warm blankets, it's what he wants. And his eyes have that half-glazed over look that we humans get when we are really feeling yucky.
I have a few pages of hand written BG's that I need to input into his SS. I'll see if I can get to it tonight.
