Morning ~O) a really late start for me, although I've been up way before the crack of dawn. It is heat warning weather here today! I made an early run to Walgreens for a new med for Mags and killed a little time until the Vet's office opened. They gave me a couple feeding syringes in case I should need them. I'm glad I stopped there, as I was able to leave a couple messages concerning Mags. The Vet Tech I spoke with said her end no tail part was really bothering her when they gave the enema, as she was so upset. She has some fused vertebrae there, all a part of the Manx. The other two enemas went over smooth, so just lately this end is sensitive. I let them know she so far hasn't had a good poo since the enema.

Mags seems okay today. When I returned home, she was waiting for me near the doorway. It reminded me of Michelle's kitties, "where have you been?" Mags is eating okay, more like grazing. I even offered some K/D and surprise, she ate it or sucked the life from it.

Thanks Marje, John and Michelle for visits I missed last evening. John, love the pic of the Poop Fairy! She still needs to visit.
Have a great day.

Busy morning for you so far!! Thanks for the visit to our condo too Ann!
Wondering where you get the Paw Lickin chicken....I just ordered it from WAG to be delivered...
no shipping fee for 3 months which is great!
I tried finding it locally but I didn't have too much luck....
Hope you guys have a good day!! Hugs from us all to you both!!

Poo vines for Ms Mags. You can do it! Zener provided plentiful poo in multiple locations overnight, perhaps in solidarity for Ms Mags?

Those are some nice flat blues in spite of it all.

We order paw lickin chicken and chicken fric a zee from Pet Food Direct. We also got paw lickin chickin from Amazon. Tillie loves them both, Zener thinks they are poison, of course, since they are low carb and low phosphorus.

I was getting worried about you guys...I'm glad to see this Maggie condo!

Poor Maggie with her back issues. I wonder if the poo issues are connected. I know the usual pain killers are out for Mags because of the constipating possibility, but maybe Adequan would work for her. It's different than the narcotics. I think it would be worth looking into. Mario had back issues as well, although he never had any x-rays or anything along those lines. But he went for many years, literally, without actually putting is fuzzy butt on the floor to sit like a "normal" cat" does. While the Adequan didn't get him actually sitting again, it really did help loosen him up and feel better...he went from "bunny hopping" down the stairs like his 17 year old self, to running down the stairs like a spry kitty of 12.

Another thought...I remember she had a BB lodged in her back end, right? Is it possible the BB could have shifted, and is now pressing on a nerve or something along those lines?

I'd love to try Paw Lickin' again for Trix...she loved it. Now that I've got her re-regulated yet again, I'm not sure if I should try it or not...she likes the Wellness, but doesn't love the Wellness like she loved the Paw Lickin'...not to mention her MamaBean is not fond of Wellness. I need that elusive FD crystal ball again, to see if the Paw Lickin' would make her BGs go haywire again!!!

Have a great day, Ann!

Hi Pat, I'll also answer in your condo. The Paw Lickin Chicken can only be bought in the Ma and Pa smaller stores or pet stores where they only sell the higher end brands, like Merrick, Wellness. I buy mine at PetPeople here, as I can buy just a few cans when needed. I like wag.com and also PetFoodDirect.

Anne, my gosh, I was just in your condo and all that poo! I think Zener ordered a pizza when you went to bed.

Amy, that's right as you have mentioned the Adequan. My Vet wants a report on Monday on Mags, so Ill mention it. He did say she can't have Bupe for it. The first time she had X-rays and he saw the BB, I had asked if it bothered her, and he said no. Yes, it's possible it could have shifted, so I'll check on it. Thanks for all your thoughts.
The first enema and X-ray showed she has spina bifida or the vertebrae fused and this is where the enema really bothered it. It didn't bother last two enemas, so it must be getting more painful. I can touch her there and massage gently, and she's okay, but no wipes.
The Paw Lickin is slightly raising Mags's BG's, as she's seeing more high end blues. She loves the gravy in it and eats some of the bulk. It's great for her for the lower phosphorus. That's why I brought out the K/D for her, and she shocked me by eating it. as prior it was a no no. Thanks for poo vines.

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O)

Wow, you have been busy today! ALot going on there in the morning. :-D I sure hope Maggie feels better today. Poo vines are being sent too. I recently bought some more paw Lickin Chicken, just to see hoe well that would go over here. Bug loved it, but then again he is MR Hoover. Lola played with it, but ate most of it. and Elsa thought it was poison .... you gotta love it. Nice that Maggie liked the renal food - Mannie preferred the Royal Canin one. Wish I had some helpful suggestions for you....

Have a great day today. Stay cool!

Re: 6/29 Maggie AMPS 176; +6 162

Hi Anne. I'm sorry the poo fairy didn't follow instructions and pay Maggie a visit yesterday like she was told to do. Fingers crossed she'll be there today. Hope Maggie keeps surfin' the blue and gets to feeling better. Sending her lots of feel better vines and poo vines.

Have a great day.

Sending more poo vine fo miss maggie. I was wondering, since she has motility issues, if the poo is too soft the muscles don't have enough contraction to move it on/ …… I won't say th next part of my though, gross, but I bet you get hte idea.

So actually, though Ann (&Tess), now that you mention it...could too much Mirilax make things too soft for Maggie to move it on through??? Maybe a little less would make things firm enough for those poo muscles to do their thing. Just another thought in the puzzle...

Poo vines continue....as always!

(If anyone told me, back in my college days, that I'd be spending my Saturday nights talking about cats' poo muscles  ... Luv ya, Maggie!!!)

Ann, I read your post every day to see how Miss Maggie and you are doing. It seems like she was doing so well for awhile and then all of a sudden the GI system seemed to slow down. Sending Maggie some motility vines.

I can relate to your frustration when I try to find a pattern with Sidney. I even have a spreadsheet going on meds, fluids, etc. Thank goodness we haven't had to do an enema yet.

Sid gets the adequan. I use the same syringe as when I gave Curry her insulin. She doesn't seem to mind. And I think it does help her.

Hugs for ya both
Tena

I hope Maggie continues to eat more and more each day.

Why can't she have bupe? I hope she will feel better tomorrow and bring you her pole tonight.

WE WANT GOOD POO! WE WANT GOOD POO! WE WANT GOOD POO! :RAHCAT :RAHCAT :RAHCAT

Ok, we also want Maggie to feel better, but I'm sure a lot of it has to do with holding all that poo in. At least her numbers are nice today. Hope tomorrow is a good day for you guys.
