I increased Pumbaa to a fat 2.0U tonight, and also learned that I might have been doing harm by massaging his injection site after shooting him with Lantus for the last month or so. *sigh*

I had really hoped that he would drop down into the blues today after his AMPS of 209. I'm still shocked that he went up, instead.

I also learned that some cats (thank you, Sheila) take over a week to settle into a dose. But I got neurotic when Pumbaa's numbers were high after six days after his last dive.

I'm really having a hard time figuring out if he is bouncing off of a bounce, and why he dives like he does once a week, and then spends so much time after that in high numbers.

With 2-1/2 pens of Lantus left, I really can't afford to switch to Levemir now, but I am so tempted, just to see if my little guy does any better with a different insulin.
--->Inserting small print: I am NOT dissing Lantus. But ECID, and I just want what is best for my Pumbaa, no matter what. And I won't know if Levemir is better for him unless I switch and try it out.

We've got to stop these Lantus vs. Levemir wars, and just think about the kitties and the humans and figure out what is the best FD treatment for our particular cats!

Nope... that's supposedly my job.

I never diss relaxed Lantus.

Well I was coming up on PMPS and all the sudden Chip was very friendly and cozy, and he was even purring very loudly. I knew that that meant, he was back up in mid to upper yellows and feeling on top of the world?

No, he was still blue and steady if not falling.

So what's up with that? Maybe that liver training school is making a little progress?

Chip had a beautiful run of blue and yellow yesterday! Hope he repeats it today for you!

If you have the power to make it happen by hoping, you do need to go to Vegas.

I didn't think it would be possible but it looks like another cycle of blue. dancing_cat

I wonder if what looks to him like another big chicken shot (on time) will shake out the usual green run tonight?

Looks like every Friday his Irish surf shifts a little later. And that lines up with yellow lead in.

So if you see blues in the next few hours...

Hahahahaha! I just posted about how I can't believe it's Friday night and he's not in a major dive!

Time to go out dancing? Have a social life?
(what's that?)

Social life? Bwahahahahahahaha!!!! After doing some yardwork and chores, I played couch potato and had some quality time with the animules. That was about all the excitement I could handle tonight. Thankfully I got all of the wildness out of my system when I was younger. :)

You jinx! He just had a blue at +4.5! *LMAO* What is with him on Friday nights???? I'll stay up and check him at +6 and see how he's doing.

I don't know! Or was it in reaction to having raised him to a fat 2.0U last night? Or is it just his standard dive on Friday nights?

What are you doing up so late?

Waiting for Pumbaa's green run. Of course. ;-)

There was plenty of warning.

At this rate AMPS will be green?

Actually, had he warned me earlier in the day that he was going to dive, I would have napped in preparation for tonight!

I like what Mel said the other day, that Pumbaa's unpredictableness is predictable. Hahaha!

Sorry to see that Chip hit red today after that nice long run in the blues.

Chip's blue may be the limit of a hangover from a *bounce* if not from a bounce on a bounce.

However just holding that lower nudges the liver little by little.

And the red and pink should clear faster.

Looks like perhaps no green drama for Pumbaa, still a nice yellow and blue day.

I have to admit I dozed off and woke up only in time for that +6.

But Pumbaa missed his weekly green run.

Maybe when it settles this new dose will produce daily upper green runs?
