Pumbaa
Member Since 2012
I increased Pumbaa to a fat 2.0U tonight, and also learned that I might have been doing harm by massaging his injection site after shooting him with Lantus for the last month or so. *sigh*
I had really hoped that he would drop down into the blues today after his AMPS of 209. I'm still shocked that he went up, instead.
I also learned that some cats (thank you, Sheila) take over a week to settle into a dose. But I got neurotic when Pumbaa's numbers were high after six days after his last dive.
I'm really having a hard time figuring out if he is bouncing off of a bounce, and why he dives like he does once a week, and then spends so much time after that in high numbers.
With 2-1/2 pens of Lantus left, I really can't afford to switch to Levemir now, but I am so tempted, just to see if my little guy does any better with a different insulin.
--->Inserting small print: I am NOT dissing Lantus. But ECID, and I just want what is best for my Pumbaa, no matter what. And I won't know if Levemir is better for him unless I switch and try it out.
We've got to stop these Lantus vs. Levemir wars, and just think about the kitties and the humans and figure out what is the best FD treatment for our particular cats!
