6/28 Oberon AMPS 360 (dose increase), +4 310, +8.5 188 (vet visit), PMPS 218, +4 287

Not a bad vet visit! I had left a message last week to let the vet know I was interested in doing the IGF-1 test (which we previously did through the internist), and when I got there today she was totally ready to do it- she had set up an account with MSU and was just waiting for the shipping labels to arrive, but they can store the sample frozen until then. So we should probably get those results next week (we'll miss this Wednesday's assay time). Other than that, we did senior blood and urine panels and he got a clean bill of health.

The only hitch in the trip was that in the truck on the way home he started panting, which I've never seen him do before... I worried that he was overheating and went right back to the vet. They checked him out and he was fine, and I went back out and thoroughly cooled the truck down for a while, then went back in to get him. He still panted just a little for a minute or so, but then was fine the rest of the way home. Now he's home and out of sorts, but BG is dropping... :cool::cool::cool:

Glad to hear Oberon is doing well! I just got home from going to the vet as well with Ruby and she did the same thing only on the way there--like full on, mouth wide open, tongue hanging out panting. Hard to tell if it was from the stress of the ride or because it's so darned hot and humid out.

Oberon isn't usually all that stressed by the vet, so I think in his case it was the heat and humidity. It was brutal out there today.
 
Paws crossed for good bloodwork results. Good to hear you've educated a vet on getting the IGF-1 tests. :)

Neko was a hot panter too. Trade your heat and humidity for mine. :rolleyes: 42 C/107 F with the Humidex right now.:arghh: No AC either.

Oh, ugh. At least we have A/C.

Oh, I also talked up the FDMB quite a bit and she may send another client with an FD cat our way. She was very impressed with the level of support I said we have here and said she might check it out herself. (So Hi to Dr. Thompson, if you're lurking here!)

Bouncing up a bit at +4... looks like I get to sleep tonight.
