Good Morning LL!!
(Ahhhhhh.... elixir! Thanks Elsa), and Happy Catmint Caturday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, KBP, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Paw Prints Pizza is open and ready for business! They are running a Caturday Catnip special today, in honor of Catmint Caturday - lots of nip in those pies! They have even used their signature nip cheese.
Best order early! so. well. anyways.
Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and Double shot espressos, with beans from deep within the mountain slopes of Africa, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a venti quad peppermint white chocolate mocha, with peppermint infused whip, garnished with peppermint candy chips and white chocolate shavings... It is my bean's fav! SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of peppermint and vanilla and chocolate and caramel swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, sprinkled with peppermint chips and a chocolate caramel drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good!
I hope everyone had a great day yesterday, and a great week. The days with the boys have been good ones! We have been very busy, that part of life has not changed, and probably never will.
Wednesday and Thursday were our swim days this week, due to some scheduling conflicts with my MIL and her work. We also did not swim Friday night since the boys were at a Mariners baseball game with their mom and dad. Things fell on different days this week, but it worked out OK for everyone. Wednesday swimming was as good as it always is. The energizer fishie was in his element, and continues to have a great time in the pool. The pool is now on their summer swim schedule, which means that the big pool that Nicholas loves is not available, due to all the swim lessons they run there during the summer. He has adapted to loosing that pool well, and has found ways to do what he likes to do in the big pool in the ones that he now has. It was nice to see him accept that without any fuss. He continues to interact well with the others kids he meets there, so all is well, so far, in the swimming world of a three year old.Thursday's swim was also a good one, many many swims under the surface! Lots of fun interacting with alot of the other kids there. That is really fun to watch. I communique to be grateful to my DMIL, Connie, who watches William for me so Nicholas and I can swim. Thank you Connie!! They were installing new gutters on her house while we were there. Nicholas had a great time watching them do what they do. It actually was kind of interesting. We made it home for naps after both swim days, they were so needed.
Nicholas still looks forward to our after swim Friday Night Burger Feast too. That is just so fun: burgers and fries, just him and me, with lots of fun stories. BUT.... since we did not swim on Friday night, and knowing how much he enjoys the while thing I thought I'd do one for lunch that day instead. We were out and about, in Seattle at the Aquarium, so we had a Burger Feast Lunch while there. it was fun, Nicholas enjoyed it, and William was there to share this time too. Nicholas was cute: shared all he had with his brother. ;-) We had a few weather breaks while in town, and were able to eat outdoors. That was really nice. We had half of it at an outdoor bench and the aquarium, and finish it all off at the Waterfront Park. Good food, good times!
Monday found me out hiking.
What an adventure! I went to a place called Pete Lake, up/over by Lake Cle Elum. I had never been there before, wow, impressive! Kinda taken back by how small the towns are there, Roslyn, and Ronald? Never heard of Ronald... lol. The hike was great, but I did not make the lake. After 14 creek crossings (most doable and no big deal, two were not) I turned around at the last one. That was more of a river crossing.... so decided not that day. The river at that point was awesome... so I spent some time there just sitting on a log, fighting off the mosquitoes, and taking it all in. The thought occurred to me that maybe I could just go back and visit Cooper River at the Bridge, and the same with the Cle Elum River. That was really very nice, glad I decided to go that route. and.... ended up in the drink on one of the creek crossings.. up to my knees in creek water.   But it was hot out, so in way it felt good. Got the privilege of wet shoes and socks and pants. !! It was an awesome day on the trail. and why have I not visited that area before. It was very very nice there. This as a HAHA: got-lost in Cle Elum. Now who gets lost in Cle Elum???? It's such a small town... took forever for me to find the freeway entrance to I90West.      The drive over Snoqualmie Pass and through those small towns was really very nice.
Wednesday, after morning Swimming, Nicholas asked to walk the Mesika Trail at the pool, to go on another berry hunt, and share that time with William. We all really do enjoy that trail. It is short, maybe a mile and half all totaled, and quite doable for the boys. Nicholas was in search of more berries - he really enjoys looking for them, picking them, and eating all that he finds. William ate his fair share too. The tally that day was 137 berries, mostly huckleberries. William had a grand time exploring, looking for cool sticks, and just being a little boy. I had to laugh when they both sat near some logs, and played dirt piles. It was a fun time for them.
Thursday, after swimming and a visit with my MIL, we went to Juanita Beach. The weather had improved enough, the sun was beginning to poke through, and it was turning into a warm after non, so off we went! We did all of what he goes there for. Lots of play, and it was warm enough that he could swim in the water. He had such fun with that. All around - really a terrific day. I bet both those boys slept well that night. William ha also developed a fondness for it all, he just gets so excited when he sees the parks, the beaches, the rivers, He is so very much like his brother when he was that age. It was a little windy there that afternoon, but it was a warm wind, so we really didn't mind it at all. It was fun to see those winds kick up some waves on the beach. That was a first for Nicholas: Swimming with waves. He just loved it. We also had a small picnic after our beach and park time. AWESOME time at the beach.
Friday was another debatable weather day, lots of clouds and pending rains, at least for the morning. so... another indoor day to start. Per Nicholas's choice we were off to the Seattle Aquarium. Both boys love that place. William is so taken back by all the colors of the tropical fish tanks, and the water fall there. That too has always been a hit with Nicholas. Like last week, there were alot of the areas that we just didn't visit this trip. The Aquarium was on kid overload. Summer programs have kicked in, and alot of kid care places visit the aquarium, it was just so busy! Lots of tourists too! The boys didn't mind, we just focused on what we could see, where they could get close enough to enjoy. After the Aquarium we spent some time on the Water Front park, walked the boardwalks, and had lunch #2 outside. That was fun, as the skies had cleared some, the sun was out, and well... it just felt great!
And on a typical little boy note: William has become very mobile. He's not walking yet, we are close on that, but even without it, nothing is safe. He has decided to take up Janitorial Services. I knew it was just too quiet.... and where was he? busy as usual.

What to say about the kitties.... They have been good kitties, and even Lola! Well sorta on Lola... Lola will always be Lola. Crazy fun Lola. They are all well, enjoying warmer weather her, and open windows,. Is till haven't done the catio fior Lola and Bug, the expense is a deterrent. I do hope to be able to get that done for them, especially Lola, soon. Bug seems to be indifferent to being able to go outside, he never ever even tries. Lola I've had to haul back inside way too many times to count... she is a master at escaping. Elsa still has her outdoor privileges. She's always been an outdoor kitty, loves it there. She's a good girl though, and never leaves her yard. Long gone are her days of touring the neighbors yard, and being the mouse population controller of the neighborhood. This senior gal likes it in her own back yard now. anyways....soon I truly hope for a catio and a kitty run for Lola and Bug. it will be nice for Elsa too in that I can let them all be out when I am not home. Lola continues too to pound on all glass and plastic surfaces. What a hoot. Still walking the railing and the frig door. Crazy fun Lola! Bug continues to warm up to the boys more and more as the days go by. Sure is nice to see that. He has come to sit by William at times when he sleeps. That so reminds me of Mannie and Nicholas. Elsa is still dong well, darn active for an almost 18 year old. She sleeps alot, but what the heck: part of being a cat. She continues to be a very good lap cat of late: nice! With the warm weather she has been out in the yard alot. Lola is SO JEALOUS!!, and lets me know it whenever she sees Big Sis out in the yard. It is interesting that Bug just doesn't seem to mind that all. He is more than content to be a house cat. Kitties are good, and All are sound asleep as I write this.... Stay good kitties! Normalcy in MusketeerVille!
Have a great day everyone! I am off to get those chores done, grocery shopping, do my laundry, fill the kitty pantry, and try and relax some. Rains today, maybe a little sunshine, so I hope to get out on a through the woods to the shore walk during weather breaks. YAHOO! Made it last weekend. It is so nice that the woods and the shore are as close as they are! The walks there have been great.
