Yesterday's Condo

Cinco woke me up this morning 1/2 hour before my alarm was supposed to go off. Darn! I actually made it six hours without waking up in pain! :-D No doubt it was because I had my little emergency kit all ready beside the bed with cookies & milk and pain meds! I looked at the clock when I heard him and realized it was +2, so I thought maybe he'd gone low. I dragged my butt downstairs (literally), and got all the kitties' breakfasts and meds ready. Cinco tested at 124, so he had dropped a decent amount, but nothing to holler about (unless you're Cinco)! Just checked his +4 and he's at 83, so I guess I'll be checking again in an hour! I like what he's doing on this dose so far. We've had lots of blues and greens and only the occasional yellow PS (anti-jinx). Nothing too exciting, but I really have enough excitement in my life right now, thank you! Keep up the good work, Cinco!

Sasha continues to do well. Once the Miralax kicked in, she got nice and regular with her poos. I cut her down to once a day, but I may try every other day, just to see if she's able to stay regular on her own. The Bupe is at twice a day now, and she doesn't seem to be in any discomfort, so I may drop it again in the next day or two. I have an old sewing bench, about two feet high, that I moved in front of my bathroom counter so I could kneel on it while brushing my teeth, etc. Last night when I went up to bed, Sasha was all curled up on it! We're far enough past surgery now that I didn't worry too much, although I did check her incision. It looked fine and she was very pleased with herself. I set her on the counter and turned on the faucet, and she started to go for a drink, and then remembered that she only had one front paw, so her usual method wouldn't work (she would get half-way into the sink and wave one paw under the flow, then lick it off). She looked so disappointed! I stuck my hand under the flow, so the water ran down it and toward her. She got the idea right away and was soon lapping at the water as it ran off my hand. Both of us were much happier!

Time to go give Sasha her Bupe, and I think I'll lie down for a while, as the pain meds are starting to kick in and I expect my tummy to start complaining shortly.

Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans!

Many recovery vines for you and Sasha, Tricia. That's great that she climbed up on the bench and wanted to drink water from the faucet. And of course, her sweet mamabean knew exactly what to do to help her. Hope you're both back to 100% very soon.

Sasha is a real cutie. Sounds like she is making nice progress: climbing and trying to get a drink.

I hope you both recover quickly. It must be hard for you to get around, but it doesn't stop you from

any of the kitty duties.

Sending many more healing vines for both you and Sasha!

I am so happy to hear that Sasha is doing well! I remember telling you it would take a little bit of time, but that she would adjust - and it seems like she is getting the hang of things really fast too!

(((Tricia)))

Cinco is really hitting it out of the park right now! YAY!!! I hope he stays right where he is and just has a nice, normal surf with no drama.

I'm glad you are on the mend from your toe surgery. I've heard toe surgery can be painful and it sounds like yesterday wasn't such a great day. I hope each day will find you feeling better and soon you'll be wearing some ultra sexy sandals showing off your lovely feet!!!

Sasha.....what a trooper she is. I am so impressed she got up on the stool and worked with you to drink out of the sink like she likes to do it. ....or a version of it. She has just been recuperating so well. Many prayers she will continue to do so.

I hope you will continue to take it easy. Many healing vines for you and Sasha.

Nice numbers for Cinco. I'm glad he's being a good boy right now. How nice that Sasha curled up on the bench. That's great you were able to help her figure out how to drink some water. I hope you're toe is healing nicely.

Re: 6/27 Cinco AMPS 204 +2 124 +4 83 +5 91

oh, yes, Cinco....nice greens for your mama bean!! Now stay surfing right around those numbers and be a good boy!!
Oh, so nice to hear that Sasha is recovering nicely and adjusting. It will take a little more time, but she will bounce right back before you know it.
Now you....I hope you continue with your recovery too. The emergency kit is a good idea, lol. My pain pills do not upset my tummy, but I can not explain the hot flashes I get. Horrible!! And I thought I was done with those!

Very nice condo here, despite the tummy-hurting pain meds. Cinco looks awesome, and I love how quickly and beautifully Sasha is adapting. I hope you're toe is healing quickly, too!! Have a great evening, Tricia!!

Sounds like a really happy household today. I hope your pain diminishes as well. Have a great night.

Re: 6/27 Cinco AMPS 204 +2 124 +4 83 +5 91

Very good boy Cinco!! You just stay surfing those nice safe numbers while your mamabean continues healing!

How very sweet..You and Sasha recuperating together....Both of you are figuring out how to do things in new ways until everything is all healed and better!

You help her with her special little routines, and she helps you by making you smile and feel great about how well she's doing....Seems like a great arrangement for both of you :-D

Every day will be a little bit better for both of you too!

Atta Boy Cinco- Look at those great numbers - what a guy! Sending continued healing vines for you and Sasha-hope your toe feels better!

Re: 6/27 Cinco PMPS 141

Thanks for all the visits today, everyone! It's so kind of you all to take an interest in my little crowd of misfits. :-D

Cinco seems to be feeling a little off this evening. He didn't eat much of his +6 snack today, but it's hot, so I didn't think anything of it, but he really wasn't interested in dinner, even with kitty krak on it. He was smacking his lips like he might be nauseated, so I gave him a sliver of ondansetron. He ate a few bites, but not as many as I'd like with insulin on board. I'm going to test him at +2 to see where he's at. I'm hoping I can get him to eat something then. He's sleeping right now. His PMPS was good, so I'm hoping it's just a heat thing and nothing more.

Everyone seems to be feeling the heat today - even Sasha's appetite is only very good, as opposed to her usual voracious! Picky Harvey ate the best of the group, for once. We did not turn the A/C on today, as there was a nice cool breeze blowing and we had all the windows open. I had a nap mid-day and wasn't moving around much, so I didn't realize it had gotten pretty warm in here. Tomorrow the breeze is supposed to be gone, so we'll be running the A/C for sure. Hopefully their appies will pick up.

I forgot to mention we graduated Sasha from the friskies carton (1 inch high) to a small litter box yesterday afternoon. She's using it without a problem. :-D

I am feeling better today - less pain in the foot and less nausea. I think having my foot up in the air while I napped for three hours definitely helped. I'm thinking of backing my pain meds down tomorrow to see how I do.

Thanks again for all the vines and good wishes.

Cinco was complaining loudly at +5.5, so I decided to go ahead and test him. Guess he wanted me to be sure to catch his toe dipping in the lagoon! Also, I think his tummy feels better, and he wanted a snack! I think I will test him again in an hour, just to make sure he isn't wading in too deep, looking for China!

I about had a heart attack a few minutes ago. I turned around to see Sasha lying on the floor in the kitchen! :o  It's the first time she's come down the stairs since her surgery. We've left the door open, even with her out of the cage, because she didn't show any desire to roam. I guess she was lonely, or wanted a snack. She got both attention and food! We let her hang out a while, and then DH went up to bed and took her along. No sense in pushing the envelope by letting her climb the stairs. She continues to amaze/scare me!

I am feeling pretty well this evening, and decided to go ahead and take one pain pill instead of two. I will still have my emergency kit next to the bed, though, just in case it was too soon. My DH went to Harbor Freight today and got me some nice soft knee pads. I do a lot of crawling around, especially upstairs, and my knees were getting raw and sore. These are wonderful and make a huge difference. Such a thoughtful guy. I think I'll keep him! ;-)

Hope everyone is having a nice, quiet Friday night. I'm just going to stay up long enough to test Cinco at +6.5, and unless he's doing something crazy, I'll hit the hay afterwards.

Oh boy Tricia, you don't need any scares right now. Little Sasha was lonely. She may come down again for some snacks. Cinco is looking good.

I am glad that your pain level is improving. DH came through with the knee pads. Good idea. Enjoy your weekend Tricia.
